04 Responsibilities of the Police and Local Authorities Regarding Labor Inspection

Circular 20/2018/TT-BLDTBXH has been issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, providing guidelines for the coordination mechanism in conducting specialized inspections of labor, occupational safety, and hygiene during nighttime and outside of official working hours.

According to Circular 20, in order to effectively manage the specialized labor inspection work, the relevant agencies, police departments, and local authorities must have the following responsibilities:

- Assign officers to participate in inspection teams and coordinate in resolving cases; implement enforcement measures to ensure the rights and lives of workers.- Provide information and documents related to violations of workers' rights or failure to ensure labor safety and sanitation at workplaces to the labor management authorities at all levels for prompt handling.- Assign tasks to subordinate units to act as focal points to cooperate with provincial labor management authorities in the locality.- Participate in developing coordination regulations in specialized inspection work on labor, safety, and labor hygiene during nighttime inspections and outside regular working hours.
