03 new wards in Do Son District, Hai Phong City established in Vietnam on October 07

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 145/2007/ND-CP adjusting the administrative boundaries of Kien Thuy district to establish Duong Kinh Do Son district, Duong Kinh and Do Son districts, Hai Phong city in Vietnam.

Decree 145/2007/ND-CP stipulates the establishment of several wards under Do Son district, Hai Phong city in Vietnam as follows:

- Establishment of Bang La Ward based on the entire 966.73 ha of natural area and 8,765 population of Bang La commune.

- Bang La Ward has an area of 966.73 ha and a population of 8,765.

- The administrative boundary of Bang La Ward: East borders Ngoc Xuyen Ward and Van Huong Ward; West borders Kien Thuy district; South borders the Gulf of Tonkin; North borders Minh Duc Ward and Kien Thuy district.

- Establishment of Minh Duc Ward based on the adjustment of 523.80 ha of natural area and 7,763 population of Hop Duc commune.

- Minh Duc Ward has an area of 523.80 ha and a population of 7,763.

- The administrative boundary of Minh Duc Ward: East borders Ngoc Xuyen Ward and Duong Kinh district; West borders Kien Thuy district; South borders Bang La Ward; North borders Hop Duc Ward.

- Establishment of Hop Duc Ward based on the entire remaining 571.60 ha of natural area and 8,093 population of Hop Duc commune.

- Hop Duc Ward has an area of 571.60 ha and a population of 8,093.

- The administrative boundary of Hop Duc Ward: East borders Duong Kinh district; West borders Kien Thuy district; South borders Minh Duc Ward; North borders Duong Kinh district.

Thus, after adjusting the administrative boundary of Kien Thuy district to establish Duong Kinh district, Do Son district, and several subordinate wards in Vietnam:

- Duong Kinh district has an area of 4,584.87 ha and a population of 50,051, including 6 subordinate administrative units: Da Phuc, Hung Dao, Anh Dung, Hai Thanh, Hoa Nghia, and Tan Thanh wards.

- Do Son district has an area of 4,237.29 ha and a population of 51,417, including 7 subordinate administrative units: Ngoc Hai, Van Son, Van Huong, Ngoc Xuyen, Bang La, Minh Duc, and Hop Duc wards.

- The remaining Kien Thuy district has an area of 10,753 ha and a population of 126,041, including 18 subordinate administrative units: Dong Phuong, Dai Dong, Huu Bang, Thuan Thien, Du Le, Ngu Phuc, Kien Quoc, Thuy Huong, Thanh Son, Dai Ha, Ngu Doan, Tan Trao, Doan Xa, Dai Hop, Tu Son, Tan Phong, Minh Tan communes and commune-level town Nui Doi.

- Hai Phong city has an area of 1,507,570 ha and a population of 1,884,685, including 15 subordinate administrative units: Hong Bang, Le Chan, Ngo Quyen, Kien An, Hai An, Duong Kinh, Do Son districts and An Duong, An Lao, Kien Thuy, Thuy Nguyen, Tien Lang, Vinh Bao, Cat Hai, and Bach Long Vi districts.
