Recently, the Minister of Health of Vietnam issued Circular 16/2020/TT-BYT on standards and guidelines for awarding the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Award in the field of traditional medicine and pharmacy.
03 General criteria for awarding the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Award in Vietnam (Illustrative Image)
According to Article 7 of Circular 16/2020/TT-BYT, there are 03 General criteria for awarding the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Award in traditional medicine work in Vietnam:
1. Have a service period in the field of traditional medicine or combining traditional medicine with modern medicine of 20 years or more.
2. Be introduced by an agency, organization, political organization, socio-political organization, or socio-professional organization to participate in the award consideration.
3. Received 01 Certificate of Merit from the Ministry, central authorities, provincial authorities, or central mass organization related to the field of traditional medicine or 02 Certificates of Merit from the Central Professional Association in the field of traditional medicine or 05 Certificates of Commendation from the Provincial Professional Association in the field of traditional medicine or 05 Certificates of Commendation from the provincial departments and authorities related to the conservation and development of traditional medicine.
In which, the service period is converted as follows:
- The service time in the field of traditional medicine of individuals in battlefields B, C, and K; the Southwest border defense war, the Northern border war, and Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Laos and Cambodia, each 01 year of service is counted as 01 year and 06 months.
- The service time in the field of traditional medicine of individuals in remote, isolated areas, extremely difficult areas, border areas, and islands, each 01 year of service is counted as 01 year and 02 months.
- In cases where individuals change their work positions, interrupt service time in different regions, the time can be accumulated to meet the award consideration criteria.
- Individuals sent by their agencies to study to improve their qualifications still have that time counted towards their service period for the award consideration criteria.
