03 Categories of Projects and Items for Post-War Unexploded Ordnance Clearance

Recently, the Minister of National Defense signed and issued Circular 195/2019/TT-BQP detailing certain articles and measures for the implementation of Decree 18/2019/ND-CP dated February 1, 2019, by the Government of Vietnam concerning the management and execution of post-war bomb and explosive remnants clearance activities.

Projects, items, tasks for overcoming the consequences of post-war unexploded ordnance are classified according to the regulations in Article 3 of Circular 195/2019/TT-BQP as follows:

  1. Group I

    - Projects, items, tasks for overcoming the particularly severe consequences of post-war unexploded ordnance;

    - Projects, items, tasks for overcoming the consequences of unexploded ordnance in areas with a total area requiring investigation, survey, and clearance of unexploded ordnance over 500 hectares;

    - Projects, items, tasks for investigating, surveying, and clearing unexploded ordnance underwater in areas where the water depth is greater than 30 meters.

  2. Group II

    - Projects, items, tasks for overcoming the consequences of unexploded ordnance in areas with a total area requiring investigation, survey, and clearance of unexploded ordnance from 30 hectares to 500 hectares;

    - Projects, items, tasks for investigating, surveying, and clearing unexploded ordnance underwater in areas with water depth up to 30 meters.

  3. Group III: Remaining projects, items, tasks for overcoming the consequences of unexploded ordnance.

Note: Projects, items, tasks for investigating, surveying, and clearing unexploded ordnance that have been approved by the competent authorities before the Circular comes into effect shall follow the approved technical construction methods and estimates.
