Regulation 90-QD/TW of 2017 has just been promulgated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party, stipulating the standards for positions and criteria for assessing cadres managed by the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.
According to Regulation 90-QD/TW, the criteria for titles of officials under the management of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat consist of 2 types of standards: (1) General Standards and (2) Specific Title Standards.
For General Standards, there are specific criteria regarding:
- Political ideology- Ethics and lifestyle- Qualifications- Competence and reputation- Health, age, and experience
For Specific Title Standards, Regulation 90-QD/TW outlines specific standards for the following titles:
- Member of the Central Committee- Member of the Politburo, Secretariat- General Secretary- President- Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam- Chairman of the National Assembly- Comrade Standing Member of the Secretariat- Chairman of Central Party Committees, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee- Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front- Vice President- Vice Chairman of the National Assembly- Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam- Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court- Chief Procurator of the Supreme People's Procuracy- Chairman of the Ethnic Council, Chairmen of the Committees of the National Assembly, Secretary-General of the National Assembly - Chairman of the National Assembly Office, Heads of the agencies under the Standing Committee of the National Assembly- Ministers and equivalents- Heads of Central Political-Social Organizations- Party Secretary of provincial and municipal party committees directly under the Central Government- Chairman of the People's Council of provinces and cities- Chairman of the People's Committee of provinces and cities
