New Guidelines on Salary Transition in the Military

Circular 207/2017/TT-BQP provides guidance on the implementation of salary transitions for defense workers as stipulated in Article 4 of Decree 19/2017/ND-CP, applicable to the following subjects:

- Defense workers within the People's Army of Vietnam's organizational structure, arranged according to job positions; performing tasks at facilities involved in production, repair, improvement, and preservation of military weapons and technical equipment; ensuring and serving the readiness for combat, engaging in combat, and carrying out other military tasks.

Attached to Circular 207 is the Table for Conversion of Defense Workers' Salary Grades Based on Working Time with Social Insurance Contributions.

Circular 208/2017/TT-BQP provides guidance on the salary transitions for officers, defense workers, public employees in defense, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers selected for professional military service, including:

- Officers of the People's Army of Vietnam in cases where organizational structure, staffing, and tasks change, rendering the current officer position unnecessary;- Defense workers and public employees in defense;- Non-commissioned officers and soldiers who have completed their mandatory service period and are serving in the Army's reserve force.

Attached to Circular 208 are:

- Annex 1: Table for Conversion of Salaries for Officers Selected for Professional Military Service;- Annex 2: Table of Higher Differential Salary Coefficients for Professional Military Personnel Compared to Public Employees in Defense.

Circular 207/2017/TT-BQP and Circular 208/2017/TT-BQP are effective from October 10, 2017.
