On August 25, 2016, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular No. 115/2016/TT-BQP specifically regulating the retrieval of reward items within the Ministry of National Defense.

Circular 115 stipulates the retrieval of State-level awarded items, the Government of Vietnam, and the Ministry of National Defense to be carried out as follows:
- Within 15 (fifteen) working days from the date of receiving the decision to revoke the honorary State title, cancel, or adjust the awarding decision of the competent authority, the collective or individual must return the awarded items in full to the agency that presented the award to the collective or individual.- Political agencies at all levels are responsible for urging the collective or individual to return the awarded items on time and send them to the Department of Propaganda, General Political Department within 15 (fifteen) working days from the date of receiving the retrieved items.- The Department of Propaganda, General Political Department is responsible for urging the political agencies of units under the Ministry of National Defense to organize the retrieval of awarded items on time and account for the retrieval as per State regulations.
Additionally, Circular 115 also stipulates the retrieval of awarded items under the awarding authority of subordinate levels of the Ministry of National Defense down to the regiment level and equivalent levels to be carried out as follows:
- Within 15 (fifteen) working days from the date of receiving the decision to revoke the commendation title, cancel, or adjust the awarding decision of the competent authority, the collective or individual must return the awarded items in full to the political agency where the award was presented to the collective or individual.- Political agencies at all levels are responsible for urging the collective or individual to return the awarded items on time and account for the retrieval as per State regulations or send them to the direct superior political agency within 15 (fifteen) working days from the date of receiving the retrieved items.- Same-level political agencies are responsible for urging the collective or individual to return the awarded items on time and organize the retrieval.
