Guidance on salary ranking for professional titles of actors and art directors in Vietnam (Internet image)

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam promulgates Circular 10/2022/TT-BVHTTDL dated October 28, 2022 stipulating codes and standards for professional titles and salary classification of performing arts officials and cinema.

The guidelines on how to rank the salaries of actors and art directors are as follows:

1. Principles of salary ranking for professional titles of actors and art directors in Vietnam

The principles of salary ranking for actor and art director professional titles are as follows:

- The appointment and salary classification into professional titles of public employees in the performing arts and cinematography must be based on the employee's job position, responsibilities, duties, and expertise.

- When appointing and assigning salaries to professional titles, public employees specializing in performing arts and cinema, respectively, must not combine salary increases or promotion of public employees' professional titles.

2. Salary ranking for the professional title of actor, art director in Vietnam

* Professional titles such as actor and art director are entitled to the salary rank in Table 3 (Skill and professional salary table for cadres and public employees in non-business units of the State) promulgated in conjunction with Decree 204/2004/ND-CP, which is as follows:

- For the title of art director:

+ The professional title of art director class I is applied with a salary coefficient from 6.20 to 8.00;

+ The professional title of art director class II is applied with a salary coefficient from 4.40 to 6.78;

+ The career title of art director class III is applied with a salary coefficient from 2.34 to 4.98;

+ The career title of art director class IV is applied with a salary coefficient from 1.86 to 4.06.

- For the title of actor:

+ The professional title of a class I actor is entitled to salary coefficient from 6.20 to 8.00;

+ The professional title of a class II actor is entitled to salary coefficients from 4.0 to 6.38;

+ The professional title of a class III actor is entitled to a salary coefficient from 2.34 to 4.98;

+ The professional title of a class IV actor is entitled to a salary coefficient from 1.86 to 4.06.

- After the probationary period is over as prescribed and the competent authority managing public employees decides to appoint the professional title of the public employee specializing in performing arts and cinema, the salary rank in the job title shall be appointed as follows:

+ In case when recruiting public employees with doctoral training qualifications, suitable for the job position recruited, appointed to the professional title of class III art director or class III actor: rank 3rd, salary coefficient 3.00, grade A1 public employees;

+ In the case when recruiting public employees with a master's degree, suitable for the job position to be recruited, appointed to the professional title of class III art director or class III actor: rank 2, salary coefficient 2.67, grade A1 public employees;

+ In case when recruiting public employees with university training qualifications suitable to the job position recruited, they are appointed to the professional title of class III art director or class III actor: rank 1, system salary of 2.34, grade A1 public employees;

+ In case when recruiting public employees with college training qualifications suitable to the job position recruited, they are appointed to the professional title of class IV art director or grade IV actor: rank 2, system salary of 2.06, grade B public employees;

+ When public employees with intermediate training qualifications are recruited for a job position, they are given the professional title of class IV art director or grade IV actor: rank 1, system salary of 1.86, grade B public employees.

- The change of salary arrangement for public employees from current professional titles to professional titles in performing arts and cinematography shall comply with the guidance in Section II of Circular 02/2007/TT-BNV.

Circular 10/2022/TT-BVHTTDL takes effect from December 15, 2022 and Joint Circular 10/2015/TTLT-BVHTTDL-BNV.
