The allowance for the commanding positions of the Militia and Self-Defense Force in Vietnam is paid monthly as stipulated in Decree 72/2020/ND-CP guiding the Law on Militia and Self-Defense Force regarding the organization, building of the force, and policies for the Militia and Self-Defense Force.

In Article 7 of Decree 72/2020/ND-CP, it is stipulated that the allowances for the commanding positions of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces in Vietnam are paid monthly, with the following rates:

Note: The effective period of the position allowance is calculated from the date of appointment decision and lasts until the date of dismissal decision; if holding the position for 15 days or more in a month, the full monthly allowance is given; if holding the position for less than 15 days in a month, a 50% monthly position allowance is given.
Decree 72/2020/ND-CP takes effect in Vietnam from August 15, 2020, replacing Decree 03/2016/ND-CP.
