Currently, the list of National and equivalent medical examination and treatment establishments under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam includes:

List of National medical examination and treatment establishment under the Ministry of National Defense in Vietnam
In Article 4 of Circular 46/2016/TT-BQP, the list of National medical examination and treatment establishments under the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam includes:
1. 108 Hospital
2. 175 Military Hospital
3. Military Institute of Traditional Medicine
4. 103 Military Hospital
5. Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital
Thus, there are 39 national hospitals in total (34 facilities under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and 5 facilities under the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam).
Pursuant to Article 6 of the Decision 18/2022/QĐ-UBND, regulations on medical examination and treatment registration facilities at the National level and equivalent are as follows:
- General hospitals under the Ministry of Health, except for hospitals specified in Clause 3, Article 6 of the Law on Health Insurance 2008;
- Specialized hospitals and specialized institutes under the Ministry of Health have polyclinics;
- Huu Nghi Hospital, Da Nang C Hospital and Thong Nhat Hospital under the Ministry of Health;
- Special grade hospitals, Grade I hospitals under the Ministry of National Defense, Military Institute of Traditional Medicine, and other medical examination and treatment establishments as prescribed by the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam.
Levels of health insurance benefits at National level-inappropriate hospitals in Vietnam
When having medical examination and treatment at National level-inappropriate hospitals in Vietnam
In case when going to medical examination and treatment at the wrong level at the National hospital, Article 14 and Article 15 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP specifically stipulates as follows:
- Enjoy 40% of the cost of inpatient treatment when medical examination and treatment at National level medical examination and treatment establishments.
- For special cases of medical examination and treatment from outside the line, the same level of entitlement to medical examination and treatment at the right level includes:
+ People of ethnic minorities and people from poor households participating in health insurance are living in areas with difficult socio-economic conditions, areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions;
Health insurance participants are living in island communes, island districts
+ Emergency cases.
