This continues to be one of the urgent requirements of the Prime Minister of Vietnam mentioned in Directive No. 16/CT-TTg dated March 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister of Vietnam on the implementation of urgent measures for prevention and control of COVID-19.
Specifically, according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requests the Ministry of Finance to instruct the General Department of Customs to resolve difficulties in export of cloth face masks; request insurers not to introduce and provide insurance against COVID-19.
Concurrently, to proactively prevent and control the disease, the Prime Minister requests the Ministries, Ministerial Agencies, Governmental Agencies, the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-affiliated cities to fully concentrate on implementation of the following urgent measures:
- Carry out nationwide quarantine for 15 days from 12 am of April 01, 2020 between families, neighborhoods/villages, communes, districts, provinces. Workers in factories shall keep a safety distance, wear facemasks, and sanitize the workplace as prescribed.
- The Ministry of National Defense shall preside over the arrangement and extension of quarantine zones; separate waves of quarantined people to avoid secondary transmission; intensify monitoring of trails and crossings along the borderline.
- The Ministry of Public Security shall preside over assurance of security and order, especially in rural areas.
- Ministries, sector management authorities, local governments and press agencies shall enhance communication of policies on protection of the people's health; issue warning against the use of headlines that may cause confusion or spread panic. The persons in charge of epidemic prevention and control shall not make announcements that may cause social panic.
