From July 1, 2018, the statutory pay rate in Vietnam was increased by 90,000 VND/month, raising the current rate to 1,390,000 VND/month. Some benefits for social insurance and health insurance participants in Vietnam were also changed.
1. Increase in the Medical Expenses Covered 100% by Health Insurance in Vietnam
Currently, the level of medical expenses covered 100% by health insurance is below 195,000 VND. As of July 01, 2018, medical expenses below 208,500 VND will still be fully covered by health insurance.
2. Increase in Various Allowances for Social Insurance Participants in Vietnam
To adjust in accordance with the increase in the statutory pay rate, various allowances for employees are also raised. To be specific:
