Issuance of new procedures and receipt voucher form for receiving social insurance benefits in Vietnam

On March 14, 2017, Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance issued Notification 496/TB-BHXH regarding the process and document receipt form under the new single-window mechanism.

Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance issues a new procedure and receipt voucher as per the single-window mechanism: The Medical Evaluation Fee Payment Procedure for individuals who have been granted occupational accident benefits, occupational disease benefits, retirement, monthly survivorship, and one-time social insurance benefits (abbreviated as Procedure 611). Additionally, a new Receipt Voucher Code 611 has been issued.

Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance agrees to implement the above-mentioned procedure and receipt voucher starting from March 17, 2017.

Procedure 611 addresses the payment of medical evaluation fees (GDKY) for employees and their relatives who undergo medical assessments for the determination of their eligibility to receive social insurance benefits, specifically:

- Individuals who experience a occupational accident or occupational disease  for the first time or multiple times and are introduced by their employer for an evaluation to be eligible for occupational accident, occupational disease policies per the 2015 Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene;

- Individuals with a recurrence of work-related injuries or occupational diseases who proactively undergo an evaluation for higher-level occupational accident, occupational disease benefits; employees who have retired or are no longer engaged in high-risk occupations listed by the Ministry of Health and discover an occupational disease within the regulated period, are eligible for occupational disease policies per the 2015 Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene;

- Individuals preserving their mandatory social insurance payment period, waiting to reach retirement age, or voluntarily paying social insurance who proactively undergo an evaluation to be eligible for monthly retirement pensions or one-time social insurance benefits per the 2014 Social Insurance Law;

- Relatives of individuals under the categories below who proactively undergo an evaluation to be eligible for monthly death gratuity according to the 2014 Social Insurance Law: Those currently paying mandatory social insurance, preserving their mandatory social insurance payment period, waiting to reach retirement age, voluntarily paying social insurance, and those receiving monthly retirement or social insurance benefits who passed away from January 1, 2016, onwards.
