Based on Subsection 1.2, Section 1 of the Digitization Plan of the Customs sector until 2025, with an orientation to 2030, issued in accordance with Decision 707/QD-TCHQ in 2022, the technical infrastructure is regulated as follows:
1.2. On Technical Infrastructure
The IT technical infrastructure has been carefully planned and upgraded by the General Department of Customs in various phases according to a centralized processing model, always applying the latest modern technologies to be ready to meet the deployment requirements of the sector's application systems. The specific main items are as follows:
- The main data center (DC) of the Customs sector is located in a separate 5-story building, designed and constructed in accordance with International Tier 3 standards.
- The Customs wide area network system is part of the unified communication infrastructure of the Ministry of Finance, connecting the General Department with all Customs Departments and Sub-Departments and linking with the Government of Vietnam, ministries, agencies, and businesses related to import-export activities as well as supporting the implementation of the National and ASEAN Single Window mechanisms.
- The server and storage system at the data center is planned, designed, and deployed according to the virtualization - cloud computing model, allowing the use of various technology platforms, easily upgraded and expanded according to actual usage needs.
- Through the centralized management and monitoring system, the technical staff of the Center carry out 24/7 operational monitoring of the entire technical infrastructure and IT systems at the data center, promptly addressing arising incidents, ensuring the IT systems always operate stably, securely, and safely.
Results on Human Resources Implementation of the IT Application Plan, Electronic Customs Development for the Period 2016 - 2020
Based on Subsection 1.2, Section 1 of the Digitization Plan of the Customs sector until 2025, with an orientation to 2030, issued in accordance with Decision 707/QD-TCHQ in 2022, the human resources are regulated as follows:
1.5. Human Resources
To date, the entire sector has approximately 600 specialized IT officials, of which the IT Department and units directly under the General Department of Customs have 168 officials; 35 provincial and city Customs Departments have about 390 officials. The specialized IT team across the sector is spread nationwide, fundamentally qualified and competent to implement IT applications and digitization in the Customs sector.
