Do Cigarette Labels Need to Include Expiration Dates?
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 10 of Decree 43/2017/ND-CP, it is stipulated that:
Commodity labels are required to display the following contents:
a) Name of the commodity;
b) Name and address of the organization or individual responsible for the commodity;
c) Origin of the commodity;
d) Other contents according to the nature of each type of commodity specified in Appendix I of this Decree and relevant legal documents.
Additionally, according to serial number 8 of Appendix I of this Decree, it is stipulated that the mandatory contents to be displayed on the label according to the nature of the commodity for tobacco products must include the following information:
a) Quantity;
b) Date of manufacture;
c) Warning information;
d) Expiry date;
e) Code, barcode.
Thus, the expiry date is mandatory information to be included on the tobacco label.
