Section 3.2, Subsection 3, Section III of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the National Nutrition Strategy until 2025, issued together with Decision 1294/QD-BYT in 2022, stipulates the continuous training for nutrition healthcare workers as follows:
3.2. Continuous Training for Healthcare Workers
- Train nutrition personnel at the undergraduate level for staff engaged in nutrition work at various levels through a work-study program.
- Develop competency standards for personnel engaged in nutrition work at various levels.
- Assess the training needs, programs, and materials for the continuous training of personnel engaged in nutrition work.
- Develop standardized nutrition training programs and materials for personnel engaged in nutrition work at various levels. Enhance training programs that apply digital technology.
- Develop and implement a capacity-building plan for nutrition personnel at the grassroots level, especially in remote areas; strengthen the network and enhance the capacity of village health workers and village midwives.
- Train and provide professional support for the prevention and control of iodine deficiency disorders for healthcare workers at various levels.
- Organize short-term continuous training courses with certification in basic nutrition; community nutrition; nutritional counseling; nutrition and non-communicable diseases; therapeutic nutrition; and emergency nutrition.

3.3. Capacity Building for Intersectoral Staff
- Develop competency standards for personnel engaged in nutrition work in related sectors such as school nutrition, occupational nutrition, and agriculture.
- Assess the training needs, programs, and materials for the continuous training of personnel in related sectors.
- Develop standardized nutrition training programs and materials for personnel engaged in nutrition work in schools, collective meal providers, and specific occupations.
- Organize short-term courses and certification courses for related occupations.
- Organize courses on nutrition and food according to societal needs.
