Is it Permissible to Release Additional Animals into Special-Use Forests?
According to Clause 2, Article 11 of Decree 156/2018/ND-CP on the protection of flora and fauna in special-use forests, the provisions are as follows:
- The protection of forest flora and fauna shall be carried out in accordance with Article 38 of the Law on Forestry; the regulations of the Government of Vietnam on the management of endangered, precious, and rare forest flora and fauna, and the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora;
- All forest fauna within special-use forests must be protected, with no activities permitted that negatively affect their natural habitat or food sources;
- Healthy indigenous animals that are disease-free and have already been distributed within the special-use forest may be released; the number of animals of each species released into the forest must be appropriate to their living area, food sources, and ensure the ecological balance of the forest;
- It is prohibited to release and breed, or cultivate animals and plants that do not naturally occur in the special-use forest.
=> Thus, if the animals you are currently raising are healthy and these species have already been distributed within the forest, and meet the living environment, food sources, and ecological balance requirements, you may release them into the special-use forest.
