Environmental Protection for Research Institutions, Training Centers, and Laboratories
According to Article 68 of the 2020 Environmental Protection Law (Effective from January 1, 2022), provisions on environmental protection for research institutions, training centers, and laboratories are as follows:
- Research institutions, training centers, and laboratories must comply with the following environmental protection requirements:
+ Collect and treat wastewater and emissions to meet environmental protection standards;
+ Sort solid waste at the source, collect, and manage it in accordance with waste management laws;
+ Treat and dispose of experimental samples, analytical specimens, and chemicals in accordance with environmental technical regulations;
+ Have plans and equipment for preventing and responding to environmental incidents;
+ Other requirements as stipulated by relevant laws.
- Research institutions, training centers, and laboratories with radioactive sources, radiation equipment, nuclear materials, and nuclear equipment must comply with the requirements stipulated by atomic energy laws.
