Residence of Minors According to the New Law

Article 12 of the Law on Residence 2020 (Effective from July 1, 2021) stipulates the residence of minors as follows:

1. The residence of a minor is the residence of the father or mother; if the father and mother have different residences, the residence of the minor is the residence of the parent with whom the minor regularly lives; in case the regular living place cannot be determined, the residence of the minor is the place agreed upon by the father and mother; if the father and mother cannot reach an agreement, the minor's residence is decided by the Court.

2. A minor may have a different residence from the residence of the father or mother if agreed upon by the father and mother or as stipulated by law.
