If I have kidney stone disease and have good surgery, will I still not be able to join military service in Vietnam?
I would like to ask, is it true that if I have kidney stones, even when I have good surgery, I will not be able to participate in military service? I have a kidney stone on my left side, I had surgery 2 years ago.
Answer: Pursuant to Appendix 1 Classification of health according to physical strength and diseases issued together with Joint Circular 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, there are provisions:
- Kidney stones without complications:
+ Only on one side, after surgery with good results over 1 year: Score 4

- Type 4: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 4;
- Type 5: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 5;

From the above regulations in Vietnam, a person with kidney stones on one side, even after surgery for more than 1 year, will still have type 4 health, not ensuring the health conditions to participate in military service.

- Type 4: There is at least 1 indicator with a score of 4;

From the above regulations in Vietnam, people who have a sleep disorder but have recovered will have health type 4, which does not ensure the health conditions to participate in military service.
