Pursuant to Form No. 01 Appendix issued with Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT, the template of the Application Form for Extra Classes for students in Vietnam is specified as follows:

Who is eligible to register for extra classes in the school in Vietnam?

Based on Article 5 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT stipulating extra classes in the school in Vietnam:

Article 5. Extra classes in the school

  1. Extra classes shall not collect fees from students and is only for the following student categories registering per subject:

a) Students with unsatisfactory results in the most recent semester for any subject;

b) Students selected by the school for advanced training;

c) Students in the final grade voluntarily registering for admission exam preparation or graduation exam preparation according to the school’s education plan.

  1. The school organizes for students who fall under the categories specified in Clause 1 of this Article to write application forms to register for extra classes per subject and grade level (according to Form No. 01 in the Appendix attached to this Circular).
  1. Based on the number of students registered, the school formulates a plan to organize extra classes for each subject and grade level.
  1. Class arrangements, scheduling, and organizing extra classes and studying must ensure the following requirements:

a) Extra classes are arranged per subject for each grade level; each class shall not exceed 45 (forty-five) students;

b) Extra classes hours should not interfere with the regular schedule nor precede the curriculum allocated in the school's educational plan for each subject;

c) Each subject can have extra classes not exceeding 02 (two) periods per week.

  1. The plan for organizing extra classes is publicly shared on the school's electronic information portal or posted at the school.

Eligible students for extra classes within the school include:

- Students with unsatisfactory results in the most recent semester for any subject

- Students selected by the school for advanced training

- Students in the final grade voluntarily registering for admission exam preparation or graduation exam preparation according to the school’s education plan.

Is it permissible to organize extra classes outside school in Vietnam?

Based on Article 6 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating extra classes outside of school:

Article 6. Extra classes outside school

  1. Organizations or individuals conducting extra classes activities outside the school that charge students must fulfill the following requirements:

a) Register for business according to legal regulations;

b) Publicize on electronic information portals or post at the location where supplemental centers operate the subjects offered for extra classes; extra classes duration per subject for each grade level; location, form, and schedule of the extra classes; list of instructors and the fees for extra classes before enrolling the classes (according to Form No. 02 in the Appendix attached to this Circular).

  1. Those extra classes outside the school must exhibit good moral character and have the appropriate specialized capacity for each subject they teach.
  1. Teachers currently teaching in schools partaking in extra classes outside of school must inform the Principal or Director or the head of the school (collectively referred to as Principal) about the subject, location, form, and schedule of their extra classes (according to Form No. 03 in the Appendix attached to this Circular).

Organizations or individuals allowed to organize extra classes activities outside the school must charge fees. However, they must comply with the following requirements:

- Register for business according to legal regulations.

- Publicize on electronic information portals or post at the location where the supplemental center is headquartered regarding:

+ Subjects offered for extra classes

+ Extra classes duration for each subject by grade level

+ Location, form, and schedule for extra classes and learning

+ List of instructors and the fees for extra classes before enrolling the classes.
