What are duties of Lecturers in the College of Pedagogy in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 1 Article 5 of the Circular 35/2020/TT-BGDĐT stipulating duties of Lecturers in the College of Pedagogy in Vietnam as follows:

a) Teach; Guide learners to do graduation topics and theses (if any);

b) Educate learners on professional ethics and working style through the teaching process. Evaluate the learning outcomes and graduation results of learners. Organize and guide learners in scientific research; guide learners in effective learning and research methods; discover learners' strengths to organize training and foster talent;

c) Chair or participate in compiling and evaluating the program; proactively regularly update scientific achievements in building training content and programs; innovate teaching methods and testing methods to evaluate learners' learning and training results;

d) Participate in training and developing the teaching staff of pedagogical colleges according to professional development requirements; Chair or participate in organizing professional activities in subjects, faculties, and educational institutions;

d) Participate in the work of class president and academic advisor; guide discussion, practice, experiments and internships;

e) Participate in compiling textbooks, reference books, monographs, manuals, translating books and textbooks in foreign languages into Vietnamese (hereinafter referred to as training books);

g) Study and foster to improve the level of political theory, expertise, profession and teaching methods; Participate in practical activities to improve the quality of training and scientific research;

h) Participate in management, Party and union work and perform other tasks according to regulations on organization and operation of educational institutions and other relevant laws.

What are qualifications for Lecturers in the College of Pedagogy in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 2 Article 5 of the Circular 35/2020/TT-BGDĐT (amended by Article 1 of the Circular 04/2022/TT-BGDĐT) stipulating qualifications for Lecturers in the College of Pedagogy in Vietnam as follows:

a) Have a master's degree or higher appropriate to the job position, industry and teaching major;

b) Have a certificate of pedagogical training (for lecturers who do not graduate from a pedagogical university or a technical pedagogical university);

c) Have a training certificate according to professional title standards of pedagogical college lecturer.

What are qualifications for Professional and Vocational Competencies of Lecturers in the College of Pedagogy in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 3 Article 5 of the Circular 35/2020/TT-BGDĐT (amended by Article 1 of the Circular 04/2022/TT-BGDĐT) stipulating qualifications for Professional and Vocational Competencies of Lecturers in the College of Pedagogy in Vietnam as follows:

a) Have in-depth knowledge of the subjects and majors assigned to teach; have knowledge of related subjects and majors; have a thorough understanding of professional practice;

b) Grasp the reality and development trends of training and scientific research of the major; Proficiently apply pedagogical skills and methods to teaching; Able to evaluate and summarize teaching experiences and methods for dissemination and application in educational institutions;

c) Preside over the implementation of at least 01 (one) scientific and technological task at the grassroots level or higher level that has been accepted with results from satisfactory or higher;

d) Preside or participate in compiling at least 01 (one) book for training, established by the scientific council (approved by the head of the educational institution or competent authority) appraise, accept and put into use in training and retraining from intermediate level or higher in accordance with the teaching or training major of pedagogical college lecturers and have an international standard ISBN code;

d) Author of at least 02 (two) scientific articles that are scientific research works of pedagogical college lecturers that have been published in scientific journals with international standard codes ISSN;

e) Able to apply information technology and use foreign languages in performing the duties of the title of main pedagogical college lecturer (class II);

g) Officials taking the exam or being considered for promotion to the position of lecturer at the main pedagogical college (class II) must have held the position of lecturer at the pedagogical college (class III) for a period of time or equivalent to a minimum of 09 (nine) years for those with a university degree, or 06 (six) years for those with a master's degree; of which must have at least 01 year (full 12 months) holding the title of pedagogical college lecturer (grade III) up to the deadline for submitting application documents for examination or promotion consideration.
