Is it possible to allocate responsibility for the care of protected forests for a period of 2 years?

Clause 1, Article 6, Decree 168/2016/ND-CP stipulates the contract duration as follows:

- The duration for job and service contracts: According to the agreement between the contracting parties, but a maximum of 01 year and within the period the contractor is allocated or leased agricultural land by the state.

- The duration for stable contracts: According to the cycle of crops, livestock, or business production cycle, or as agreed between the contracting parties, but a maximum of 20 years and within the period the contractor is allocated or leased agricultural land by the state.

According to the above provisions, the duration for job and service contracts will be based on the agreement of the parties but not exceeding 01 year and within the period the contractor is allocated or leased agricultural land by the state.

According to Point a, Clause 1, Article 5, Decree 168/2016/ND-CP, forest protection contract is considered as a job and service contract.

Therefore, the duration for forest protection contracts must not exceed 01 year, hence a 02-year agreement in this case is not permissible.
