Use of Digital Signature in Electronic Transactions for Social Insurance
A digital signature is a form of electronic signature for Social Insurance created through the transformation of a data message using an asymmetric cryptography system, whereby the person with access to the original data message and the public key of the signer can accurately verify the message.
The use of digital signatures in electronic transactions for Social Insurance is stipulated in Clause 1, Article 4 of Decision 838/QD-BHXH in 2017, concerning the Procedure for Electronic Transactions in Social Insurance, Health Insurance, and Unemployment Insurance, issued by Vietnam Social Security. Specifically:
- Organizations and individuals conducting electronic transactions in the field of Social Insurance must possess a valid digital certificate issued by a certification service provider in accordance with the law. If an individual conducts electronic transactions in the field of Social Insurance but has not been issued a digital certificate, they may use the electronic transaction authentication code provided by Vietnam Social Security.
