Vietnam: 03 cases to be exempted from foreign language exams when applying for the customs officer exam in 2022

The plan issued together with Decision 1334/QD-BTC dated 1/7/2022 on recruitment plan for officials 2022 at the Customs Departments of Hanoi and Hai Phong is approved by the Minister of Finance of Vietnam

Specifically, candidates in Vietnam who register for the customs officer exam in 2022 will be exempted from foreign language exams at the Customs Departments of Hanoi and Hai Phong as follows:

Candidates are exempted from the foreign language test in Vietnam if they meet one of the following conditions:

- Possessing a college, university or postgraduate diploma in foreign languages in one of five languages: English, Russian, German, French, Chinese.

- Possessing a college, university, or postgraduate diploma granted by a foreign educational institution and recognized in Vietnam according to regulations, studying in one of five languages: English, Russian, German, French, and Chinese.

- Having a certificate of ethnic minority language or being from an ethnic minority, in the case of applying for a position of official working in an ethnic minority area: Submit a photocopy of the candidate's birth certificate clearly stating the ethnic minority.

In case the candidate's birth certificate does not specify the ethnicity, the candidate is requested to add the household registration book to prove the candidate's identity (applicable according to Official Dispatch 1446/VPCP-DP dated March 20, 2007 of the Office of the Government on confirmation of ethnicity) or a photocopy of the certificate of ethnic minority language.
