Support of up to 40 million VND for newly built houses for poor and near-poverty households in Vietnam

The Minister of Construction of Vietnam issued Circular 01/2022/TT-BXDa> dated 30/6/2022 stipulating instructions on housing support for poor households in poor districts under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the 2021-2025 period.

According to the Circular, housing support for poor and near-poverty households in Vietnam falls under the following criteria:

- Poor households, near-poor households do not have houses or houses of unstable type;

(Of the three main structures: foundation, frame-wall, and roof, at least two structures are made of unstable materials).

- The average housing area per capita of poor households and near-poor households is less than 8 m2;

- Housing support has not been received from supporting programs, schemes, and policies of the State, socio-political organizations, or other social organizations in Vietnam.

Regarding the level of housing support for poor and near-poor households from the central budget of Vietnam:

- Newly built house: 40 million VND/household;

- House repair: 20 million VND/household.
