The Ministry of Health of Vietnam provides guidance on prevention Covid-19 at shopping centers, markets and restaurants

On December 7, 2021, the Ministry of Health had Decision 5619/QD-BYT on issuance " a set of guidlines for prevention, control and assessment of the risk of COVID-19 infection in commercial centers, markets, supermarkets and restaurants.

According to the Guidline, the Ministry of Health guides a number of contents to be implemented to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 disease in Vietnam, specifically:

- Food processing areas must have a place to wash hands, enough clean water and soap or hand sanitizer solution. Maintain food samples according to regulations.

- The dining areas must be clean and well-ventilated; have a place to wash hands, have enough clean water and soap or hand sanitizer; have enough tables and chairs and ensure the distance between customers as prescribed (can be staggered or put a partition between customers); have enough eating utensils to ensure separate for each customer and be clean;

Adequate waste bins with lids and linings are available; There is a 5K sign on epidemic prevention and control, instructing customers to wash their hands with soap and clean water or hand sanitizer before, after eating, and after going to the toilet.

- Toilet areas must be clean, with enough clean water, hand soap, toilet paper; Sanitize and disinfect at least twice a day.

- For ready-to-eat meals, delivered food must be packed in sealed, safe boxes/bags and stored according to regulations and instructions during transportation.

- Food handlers must wear masks and gloves when handling and in direct contact with food.

- Clean and disinfect the surface of tables and chairs right after each guest leaves.

Conditions for employees/workers, sellers, customers in Vietnam

According to the guidance of the Ministry of Health, employees, sellers and customers when coming to service areas at trade centers, markets and supermarkets should note:

- Do not come to the service area if you have any of the following symptoms: fatigue, fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing or are in isolation at home.

- Make a medical declaration upon arrival at the service area;

- Always follow the 5K Message, which is to wear masks properly and dispose of them after use in the right trash bins; limit contact with others; frequently wash hands with soap and clean water or disinfect with an antiseptic solution;…

- Immediately notify the officer in charge of epidemic prevention and control at the service area if you find yourself or the employee/worker, salesperson, or customer showing any of the following symptoms: Fatigue, shortness of breath, fever,…

- Ensuring safety against epidemics during the travel from the accommodation to the service area and vice versa;

- Employees/employees and vendors must be vaccinated with a full dose of COVID-19 vaccine, sign a commitment to carry out work on COVID-19 disease prevention and control; Regularly self-assess the risk of disease transmission once a week.

Decision 5619/QD-BYT takes effect from December 7, 2021.
