Strengthening solutions to ensure the implementation of children's rights and protect children

In the past few days, the media and media have published many news and articles reflecting the case of an 8-year-old boy, residing in Ward 22 (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) being tortured leading to death, causing public outrage. ; Binh Thanh District Police have prosecuted the case, prosecuted the accused, arrested the related subjects.

Regarding this, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh requested relevant ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to immediately perform the following tasks:

1. The Ministry of Public Security and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City continue to direct the functional forces to urgently investigate and clarify the case to strictly handle the subjects involved in accordance with the law, not to miss the crime.

2. Ministries: Public Security, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Education and Training, Information and Communication, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities Strictly follow the Prime Minister's direction in Directives: No. 18/CT-TTg dated May 16, 2017 on strengthening solutions to prevent and combat violence and child abuse, No. 08/CT-TTg dated 4 February 2, 2020 to promote domestic violence prevention and control, No. 23/CT-TTg dated May 26, 2020 on strengthening solutions to ensure the implementation of children's rights and protect children; focus on directing the implementation of effective prevention and control measures against child abuse, domestic violence, school violence...; strictly handle violations; resolutely handle organizations and individuals that cover up, delay or fail to handle child abuse and abuse cases.

3. To request the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuracy to direct the People's Courts and People's Procuracies at all levels to closely coordinate with investigating agencies in investigating and prosecuting activities. judge; strictly handle cases related to child abuse and abuse according to the provisions of law for deterrence and general prevention education.

4. Requesting the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to step up propagating and mobilizing members, union members and the whole society to strongly and promptly detect, inform, notify and denounce acts of child abuse and abuse; strengthen supervision of law enforcement on child protection.

5. Parents, caregivers, and family members uphold the responsibility of caring, nurturing, educating, protecting life, body, dignity, honor and secret of private life. children's private; improve knowledge and skills necessary to protect children, prevent and combat child abuse, closely coordinate with local authorities and competent agencies in child protection work.
