Hanoi: Urgently set up COVID-19 treatment areas in non-public hospitals

The Hanoi Department of Health has just promulgated an urgent Official Dispatch on the implementation of urgent measures to adapt safely, flexibly and effectively control the COVID-19 epidemic in the new situation in Vietnam.

The Hanoi Department of Health requires medical examination and treatment facilities inside and outside the public facilities to urgently set up COVID-19 treatment areas in hospitals, deploying beds to treat COVID-19 patients assigned under Decision No. 5057/QD-UBND on December 1, 2021 of the Hanoi People's Committee on the assignment of beds for isolation and treatment to hospitals under the Hanoi Department of Health, ensuring both regular medical examination and treatment and treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Review and prepare facilities at facilities to collect and treat asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 patients to be ready to receive early treatment for patients in order to minimize the number of serious illness and death cases.

At the same time, strictly implement the organization of threading and screening of suspected cases to detect COVID-19 cases early, random and periodical testing for medical staff, inpatients, patients, patients' homes, especially in emergency and intensive care units, artificial kidneys,...according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health to avoid infection in medical examination and treatment establishments. Exploiting, examining, classifying disease levels, assessing risks for patient separation and referral according to the instructions in Official Dispatch No. 2139/SYT-NVY dated December 5, 2021 on channeling and receiving COVID-19 patients (4th time).

Units strictly implement 5K throughout the hospital and strengthen supervision of the implementation of cleaning, disinfection, and natural or mechanical ventilation in departments and rooms.

Deploying the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment, consultation work. Prescribing and providing outpatient drugs for patients with chronic diseases up to 3 months for chronic diseases that have been treated stably.

In addition, the Department of Health requested health centers of districts, towns to urgently implement monitoring, management and treatment of F0 at home in accordance with the instructions in Plan 276/PA-UBND dated December 2. 2021 by the City People's Committee on the treatment plan "safely adapting, flexibly, effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic" in Hanoi, applying software to monitor, manage and treat F0 at home.
