In order to continue to effectively implement the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, especially proactively controlling the new strain Omicron, which is happening very unpredictably, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the People's Committee, the Steering Committee to The leaders of the provinces and centrally-run cities for COVID-19 prevention and control direct and organize more quickly the vaccination against COVID-19:

- No later than December 31, 2021, the 2nd injection must be completed for people 18 years of age or older, not missing the cases that are required to be vaccinated, especially people with underlying diseases, people over 50 years old;

- Complete the 2nd injection for people from 12 to 18 years old in January 2022

- Complete the 3rd injection for people aged 18 years and over in the first quarter of 2022.

The Chairman of the People's Committee and the head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control are responsible to the Prime Minister for the progress of vaccination in the locality when adequate vaccines are provided.

Assign the Ministry of Health to be responsible for ensuring enough vaccines and timely distribution to localities, and guide localities in safe, scientific, rational and effective injections.
