The Government of Vietnam issued Resolution 55/NQ-CP dated 14/4/2022 on COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 5 to under 12 years old.

According to the Resolution, the Government of Vietnam agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Health on receiving COVID-19 vaccines for children from 5 to under 12 years of age from other countries and international organizations.

The Ministry of Health of Vietnam, based on the epidemic situation, vaccination schedule, aid sources, and commercially available vaccines, determine and take responsibility for the quantity and type of vaccines received as aid and purchased commercially in a timely manner, on schedule, with safety, quality, and effectiveness; stay active and manage the vaccines so they will be available for all circumstances.

When it is necessary to buy commercial vaccines to vaccinate children from 5 to under 12 years old, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam shall proactively determine and take responsibility for the quantity, time, and types of vaccines to be purchased in accordance with the timeline and report to the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

Agree to the Prime Minister's permission to apply the form of contractor selection in special cases as prescribed in Article 26 of the Bidding Law with conditions such as the Government's resolutions on purchasing COVID-19 vaccines. 19 for adults.

The Ministry of Health is responsible for receiving aid, purchasing and organizing vaccinations against COVID-19 for children from 5 to under 12 years old, ensuring reasonable, safe, scientific, effective, and especially progress as stated in Report 489/TTr-BYT dated April 8, 2022 by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.

Resolution 55/NQ-CP takes effect from April 14, 2022. The Government's Resolutions and the Prime Minister's Decisions on purchasing and vaccinating children from 5 to under 12 years of age that are not consistent with the contents of this Resolution will no longer be valid.
