Implementation of logistics system in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam

Develop transport infrastructure and logistics system in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam, ensure connectivity between transport modes, improve transport quality and reduce logistics costs.

This content is covered in Directive 10/CT-TTg dated 18/6/2022 on the task of promoting sustainable agricultural and rural development in the Mekong Delta region, actively adapting to climate change.

According to this Directive, the Prime Minister assigns the Ministry of Transport to lead, direct and implement the construction of transport infrastructure and logistics system in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam, ensuring the connection between modes of transport, improving the quality of transport and reducing logistics costs;

Coordinate with localities to mobilize resources to build focal points and gateways of the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam, including studying plans to build deep water border ports in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam.

In addition, the Ministry of Construction shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the localities in the region in, reviewing the planning of the urban and rural system and redeploying the population, especially the areas at risk of landslides in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Vietnam Farmers' Association in, effectively developing and implementing mechanisms and policies to support agricultural vocational training for rural laborers in order to meet human resource needs for restructuring the agricultural sector, transforming careers for workers in agricultural and rural areas; and attracting highly skilled laborers to work in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Education and Training effectively implements training programs to improve the quality of human resources in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam; encourages higher education institutions in the region to attract young experts and intellectuals; focuses on training high quality human resources for sectors suitable for agricultural and rural development in the Mekong Delta region in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Information and Communications shall develop and complete mechanisms and policies to promote the development of digital transformation, information technology, telecommunications, remote sensing, application of biotechnology and digital technology in agricultural management, production, business and environmental treatment in agricultural production.
