Vietnam: Conditions for recognition of national high school graduation in 2022

Conditions for recognition of national high school graduation in 2022 are specified in the Regulations on High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDĐT in Vietnam.

According to the Circular, the conditions for recognition of national high school graduation in 2022 in Vietnam include:

- Candidates who meet the requirements of taking the exam, have no discipline record at the level of score disposal and above;

- Candidates who have all papers and component subjects in combined papers scored greater than 1 point in scale 1-10;

- Candidates who have the grade-point average for graduation assessment from 5 and above

In there:

* Eligibility requirements for examination:

- For those who have completed the high school program in the year the exam is held:

+ Meet the requirements that in 12th grade their conduct must be classified as Average and above and academic performance must not be classified as Poor..

+ In particular, the classification of conduct is not required for continuing education learners in guided self-study mode and learners with no requirements of conduct classification.;

- For those who have completed the high school program but have not taken the high school graduation exam or have taken the exam but have not graduated from high school in previous years:

+ Must obtain lower secondary graduation diplomas and also meet the requirements that in 12th grade their conduct must be classified as Average and above and academic performance must not be classified as Poor.

+ A person who was disqualified from the previous year’s high school graduation exam due to poor academic performance in grade 12 must take the final exam for any subjects with GPA below 5.0 (at the school in which they were in 12th grade or at the school registered for the exam) and the new GPA meets academic performance requirement as prescribed in Vietnam;

+ IA person who was disqualified from the previous year’s high school graduation exam due to poor performance of conduct in grade 12 must be certified by the commune-level People's Committee of the place of residence to comply with local laws and regulations in order to be certified by the high school where the 12th grade is located in Vietnam

- For those who already have high school diplomas, those who already have intermediate diplomas take the exam to get the results as a basis for enrollment registration:

+ must have studied and passed a given number of high school academic subjects as per the Law on Education and its guiding documents of the MOET of Vietnam;

+ Candidates must register for the exam and submit all required documents in due time.
