Remove medical declaration in immigration procedures in Vietnam

The Government Office of Vietnam issued Announcement 127/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam at the meeting taking on difficulties in the current immigration procedures. In particular, the Ministry of Health is required to solve problems in medical declaration in immigration procedures.

Specifically, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam - Vu Duc Dam requested the Ministry of Health of Vietnam to carry out the following tasks:

- Expeditiously solve problems related to medical declaration when carrying out immigration procedures.

No later than April 26, 2022, to issue guidance on specifying medical conditions for epidemic prevention and control for foreigners' entries into Vietnam.

Instructions will be announced on the website of the Ministry of Health. At the same time, send to the Ministries of Public Security, Foreign Affairs, Transport, Information and Communications, and relevant ministries and agencies of Vietnam to inform the subjects on entry.

- Assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Ministries of Public Security, Foreign Affairs, Transport, Information and Communications and relevant agencies in agreeing and issuing written notices on the medical declaration for people entering the country.

Review electronic medical declaration applications with specific instructions for people to enter before entering the country smoothly.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam also requested the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the Ministry of Health and relevant ministries and agencies in, immediately dispatching a working delegation to localities with international airports to promptly guide and remove problems in immigration procedures.

At the same time, there is a plan to handle cases where immigration has not yet made a medical declaration before entry or right at the border gate, minimizing congestion at airports.
