When will the Final of Miss Universe 2024 take place?

Miss Universe is an international beauty pageant considered one of the four major global beauty contests, alongside Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth. Fans collectively refer to these competitions as the "Big 4."

Miss Universe is held annually to seek women who are not only beautiful but also possess outstanding qualities from across the globe. The pageant evaluates not only exterior beauty but also focuses on intelligence, talent, communication skills, and positive contributions to the community.

In 2024, Miss Universe will be hosted in Mexico, with Vietnam's representative being Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen.

The Miss Universe 2024 Final will consist of 2 segments:

- Swimsuit Presentation

- Evening Gown Presentation

The Semifinals and the Final of Miss Universe 2024 are scheduled to be held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City at 09:00 on November 15 and November 17, with the participation of over 100 contestants from various countries and territories worldwide. FPT Play will exclusively broadcast the Final live at 08:00 on November 17, 2024, Vietnam time.

Is there a limit on the number of beauty pageants each year in Vietnam?

According to the latest regulations on performing arts activities governed by Decree 144/2020/ND-CP.

Previously, under Decree 79/2012/ND-CP (which expired on February 1, 2021), the number of beauty pageants was regulated as follows:

Name and number of beauty contests in the country

1. A beauty contest on a national scale is called a Miss pageant.

2. For other beauty contests, based on the purpose, significance, and criteria of the contest, the organizing committee shall name it appropriately.

3. The number of beauty contests annually is regulated as follows:

a) For national scale beauty contests, no more than 2 times per year;

b) For regional, sectoral, or central organization beauty contests, no more than 3 times per year;

c) For provincial level beauty contests, no more than 1 time per year;

d) For international beauty contests held in Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism shall consider and decide based on the specific situation of each year.

It is apparent that compared to the old regulations, Decree 144/2020/ND-CP no longer stipulates the number of beauty pageants that can be held in a year.

Thus, there is no limit on the number of beauty pageants that can be organized in a year, but the conditions for organization and operation must be ensured in accordance with legal regulations.

When will artistic performance activities in Vietnam be halted?

According to Article 17 of Decree 144/2020/ND-CP regarding stopping artistic performance activities:

- The competent state authority must request the cessation of artistic performance activities in writing in any of the following cases:

+ Violation of the provisions in Article 3 of Decree 144/2020/ND-CP;

+ Not notifying or not yet receiving approval from the competent state authority according to this Decree;

+ For reasons of national defense, security, natural disasters, pandemics, or emergency situations.

- The competent state authority to halt artistic performance activities is the agency receiving the notification or the authority with approval competence prescribed in Decree 144/2020/ND-CP.

- The written request to cease artistic performance activities must state the reason and stopping time.

- Organizations and individuals must halt artistic performance activities as requested by the competent state authority and promptly rectify the consequences. If wishing to continue the performance activity, organizations or individuals must submit a proposal in writing on a continuation plan to the competent state authority for consideration and decision.

- Within 02 working days from the date of receiving the proposal in writing, the competent state authority shall consider, decide, and notify the result in writing to the organization or individual involved.

- Organizations or individuals whose artistic performance activities have been halted must publicly announce the cessation on mass media and ensure the rights of involved organizations and individuals in accordance with legal regulations.
