Hello, Lawnet would like to answer as follows:
A desktop computer is a computer whose main unit is designed to be placed in a fixed position, usually on a table or on the floor. Desktop computers are not designed for portability and use a separate monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Desktop computers are typically designed to handle a wide range of home and office applications.
Besides desktop computers, Standard TCVN 13371:2021 also applies terms and definitions in TCVN 11847 (IEC 62623) and terms and definitions such as:
- Integrated desktop computer
Desktop computers have the computer and computer monitor operating in a single unit, receiving AC power through a single power cable. Integrated desktop computers come in one of two forms:
+ Products where the computer monitor and computer are physically combined in a single unit; or
+ The product is packaged as a single product where the computer monitor is separate but connected to the main unit by a one-way power cord, and both the computer and computer monitor are powered by a single power supply.
- Point of Sale - POS
The device does not use internal components as with a typical desktop or integrated desktop computer, including processors, circuit boards, and memory.
- Client computer (thin client)
Computers are independently powered and rely on connections to remote computers (e.g., servers, workstations) to perform their main functions. The main computational functions (e.g., program execution, data storage, and interaction with other Internet resources) are provided by remote computing resources. The client computers mentioned in the above scope are limited to devices that do not have storage media integrated with the computer and are designed
for use in a fixed location (e.g., a desk) and cannot be moved.
(1) Power consumption levels according to Standard TCVN 13371:2021
- Typical energy consumption: TEC
The amount of power consumed by a computer, used to compare the energy efficiency of similar computers, often focusing on the typical power consumed by a desktop computer for a given profile during normal operation for a representative period of time. In this standard, the profile specified in Table 1 of Standard TCVN 13371:2021 is applied.
- Base energy consumption: TECbase
The amount of power consumed by a desktop computer with a basic configuration.
- Added power consumption level (adder energy consumption): TECadder
The amount of power consumed by additional components compared to the basic configuration includes: memory, graphics card, storage, display, and Ethernet...
- Maximum typical power consumption (maximum TEC): TECmax
Total base power consumption and additional power consumption.
(2) Desktop power efficiency requirements
- System sleep mode activation time
The system sleep mode activation time must not exceed 30 minutes.
- Display sleep mode activation time
The display sleep mode activation time must not exceed 15 minutes.
- Typical power consumption (minimum energy efficiency level, MEPS)
The typical power consumption (TEC) of the desktop computer must be less than or equal to the maximum typical power consumption (TECmax).
