The Contest "For Children's Smiles" is organized in Vietnam with the purpose of enhancing the dissemination, popularization, and education of legal knowledge, contributing to raising awareness and compliance with the laws on caring for disabled and disadvantaged children.
Simultaneously, it aims to propagate and expand the exemplary models and figures in the fields of care, education, treatment, charity, material, and spiritual support for disadvantaged and disabled children.
Regarding the eligible participants, Vietnamese citizens and foreigners currently residing in the territory of Vietnam are eligible to participate (except for the members of the Organizing Committee, Content Committee, Secretariat of the Contest who are not eligible to participate).
Methods for participating in the contest is as follows:
Method 1: Access the Contest software from the banner of the Contest "For Children's Smiles" on Children's Health Magazine at suckhoetreem/tracnghiemVinucuoitreem.vn.
Method 2: Access the link vinucuoitreem/suckhoetreem.vn into the software of the Contest "For Children's Smiles" > click “Participate” > fill in participant information and answer the questions.
Method 3: Access from the banner of the Contest "For Children's Smiles" on certain electronic newspapers, magazines, and news sites with links to the Contest > click “Participate” > fill in participant information and answer the questions.
According to Article 6 of the Law on Children 2016, prohibited acts against children include the following:
(1) Depriving children of their right to life.
(2) Abandoning, neglecting, trafficking, kidnapping, swapping, or appropriating children.
Neglecting or abandoning children refers to the acts of parents or caregivers failing to perform or fully perform their obligations and responsibilities in caring for and raising children.
(3) Sexual abuse, violence, exploitation, or harassment of children.
Sexual abuse of children includes using force, threatening to use force, coercing, enticing, or luring children into sexual-related acts, including rape, molestation, sexual intercourse, and prostitution involving children or using children for pornographic purposes in any form.
Child violence includes acts of torturing, maltreating, beating; physically assaulting, harming health; insulting, offending dignity, honor; isolating, expelling, and other intentional acts causing physical or emotional harm to children.
Exploitation of children refers to forcing children to work contrary to labor laws; having them perform or produce pornographic materials; organizing or supporting activities aimed at sexually abusing children; giving, receiving, or providing children for prostitution and other acts that use children for profit.
(4) Organizing, supporting, inciting, or forcing children into early marriage.
(5) Using, enticing, inciting, stimulating, exploiting, luring, or forcing children to commit legal violations, insult the dignity, and honor of others.
(6) Obstructing children from exercising their rights and duties.
(7) Failing to provide or concealing, preventing the provision of information about children being abused or at risk of exploitation or violence to family, educational establishments, authorities, and competent individuals.
(8) Stigmatizing or discriminating against children based on personal characteristics, family circumstances, gender, ethnicity, nationality, belief, or religion.
(9) Selling or providing children with alcohol, beer, cigarettes, addictive substances, stimulants, unsafe food, or harmful products.
(10) Providing Internet services and other services; producing, copying, distributing, operating, disseminating, transporting, storing, trading publications, toys, games, and other products aimed at children but containing content that negatively affects the healthy development of children.
(11) Disclosing information about the private life and personal secrets of children without the consent of children aged seven and older and their parents or guardians.
(12) Exploiting child care arrangements to abuse children; exploiting state policies and the support and assistance from organizations and individuals for children for profit.
Receiving alternative care involves organizations, families, or individuals taking in children for care and upbringing when the children lack parents; cannot or are not allowed to live with their biological parents; affected by disasters, conflicts, to ensure safety and the best interests of children.
(13) Establishing or placing service facilities, production bases, or warehouses that cause environmental pollution, are hazardous, or pose a direct risk of fire and explosion near child protection services, educational or health facilities, cultural points, or play and recreation areas for children, or placing child protection services, educational, health, cultural facilities, or play areas for children near service facilities, production bases, or warehouses that cause environmental pollution, are hazardous, or pose a direct risk of fire and explosion.
(14) Encroaching upon, using the infrastructure meant for study, play, recreation, and child protection services for improper purposes or contrary to legal provisions.
(15) Refusing, failing to perform, or improperly, untimely supporting, intervening, or treating children who are at risk or in dangerous situations, or suffering harm to their bodies, honor, or dignity.
