- Each exam registration unit is assigned a three-digit code from 001 to 999 by the Department of Education and Training; as follows:
+ Codes from 001 to 900 are assigned to exam registration units such as high schools, vocational training centers, or other equivalent educational institutions (referred to as general education institutions), where candidates meet criteria a of Article 12 of the Examination Regulations (candidates are students in grade 12 of the academic year 2023-2024) and register for high school graduation recognition.
+ Codes 901 to 999 are assigned to exam registration units where candidates meet criteria b and c of Article 12 of the Examination Regulations (referred to as self-study candidates) and register for high school graduation recognition (if applicable).
- Exam Score Codes: The Examination Board assigns codes from 01 to the end.
You can refer to the instructions below to fill out the registration form for the 2024 National High School Graduation Examination in Vietnam:
Section EDUCATION AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT............. CODE: If the candidate registers at a testing unit under which Education and Training Department, write the name of the Education and Training Department in the empty position, then fill in the 2 digits representing the code of the Education and Training Department in the next 2 empty boxes. The code of the Education and Training Department is regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Section Ballot number: Leave this section blank as it is for the registration receiving unit to fill in.
Section 1, 2: Follow the instructions on the High School Graduation Examination Registration Form (hereinafter referred to as the Registration Form).
Section 3: a) For the candidate's place of birth, only write the name of the province or centrally-run city (province/city), if born outside the country, only write the name of the country (in Vietnamese), b) Write the ethnicity according to the birth certificate, c) If the candidate has foreign nationality, mark (X) in the adjacent box.
Section 4: The Citizen Identification Card number, Identity Card number, Personal identification number, and Passport number are written together as the Citizen Identification Card/Identity Card (CCCD/CMND) number in this section. For the new CCCD/CMND format, write the full 12 digits in the corresponding boxes; for the old CMND format, write 9 digits in the 9 rightmost boxes, leaving the first three boxes blank.
Section 5: Province/city code, district code, and commune/ward code only apply to communes/wards in Region 1 as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates need to look up the correct province/city code, district code, and commune/ward code at the registration unit to write in the corresponding boxes on the right. If the candidate does not have a permanent address in a commune in Region 1, leave the commune code box blank. After filling in all the administrative unit codes in the boxes, write the name of the commune/ward, district, and province/city in the blank line. For candidates who belong to priority objects or areas related to their permanent address, it is required to affirm that they have had a permanent address for over 18 months in Region 1 or over 18 months in a specially difficult commune with a specially difficult hamlet during their high school education by marking in the corresponding box.
Section 6: Write the school name and address up to the district, province/city on the dotted line. Write the province code where the school is located in the first 2 boxes, and write the school code in the next 3 boxes (follow the regulations of the Education and Training Department, if the school code has 1 digit, write 0 in the first 2 boxes, if the school code has 2 digits, write the first box as 0). For candidates who are police officers or soldiers sent to participate in the examination for admission to universities, colleges of pedagogy, write the corresponding province/city code for the province where they are stationed and the high school code is 900. For candidates who have studied abroad, write the corresponding province/city code for the province/city according to their permanent address in Vietnam and the high school code is 800. Class name: write the name of the 12th grade class where the student is currently studying (for example 12A1, 12A2, ...), for independent candidates, write "TDO".
Section 7: Write the telephone number, email. For candidates who request to adjust their online admission registration, register their mobile phone number to receive a one-time password (OTP) via text message for security when registering online.
Section 8: Candidates must clearly write the contact person's information: full name; telephone number; address of hamlet (house number), village (street, alley), commune/ward, district, province/city. This address will also be the address to receive the Acceptance Letter if the candidate is admitted.
Section 9: Candidates who wish to receive the examination results for admission to universities, colleges of pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, mark (X) in the adjacent box.
Section 10: Candidates must mark (X) in one of the 2 boxes to indicate whether they study in the regular high school program or the Continuing Education program for high school.
Section 11: For independent candidates, mark (X) in one of the 2 boxes to clearly differentiate whether the candidate has not graduated from high school or has graduated from high school (as of the examination date).
Section 12: Write the name of the examination council and the examination council code regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training in the corresponding position.
Section 13: Students studying in the 12th grade of high school at a school must submit the Registration Form at that school. Other candidatesshould submit the Registration Form at the nearest Education and Training Department or authorized registration unit
Section 14: For candidates who are currently in 12th grade (not yet graduated from high school), they must register for the exam at point a, and they are not allowed to choose the subjects for the component exam at point b. For independent candidates, depending on the purpose of the exam and the choice of subject combinations for university and college admission, they can choose either the whole exam (at point a) or only some component subjects (at point b) that are suitable. Candidates are only allowed to register for one combination exam (KHTN or KHXH). Independent candidates can only register for component subjects in the same combination exam. In the case of independent candidates who have not graduated from high school but have exams/subjects (to be recognized as high school graduates) from the previous year that meet the conditions for retention, if they want to retain any exam/subject, they must record the score of that exam/subject in Section 16. However, candidates can still choose to take the component exam/subject (requested for retention) to obtain the results for university and college admission. For candidates following the GDTX program, they can choose the Foreign Language exam if they wish to use the Foreign Language subject in their subject combination for university and college admission.
The method of choosing the exam/component subject: Candidates register to take the exam/component subject by marking (X) in the corresponding exam/component subject box. For the Foreign Language exam, candidates should enter the specific language code as follows: N1 - English; N2 - Russian; N3 - French; N4 - Chinese; N5 - German; N6 - Japanese; N7 - Korean. Candidates can only choose component subjects in one combination exam.
Section 15: For candidates who wish to be exempted from the Foreign Language exam, they need to specify the type of certificate that qualifies for exemption or specify that they are members of the national team participating in the International Olympic in Foreign Language according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. For certificates with exam scores (overall exam score), candidates must enter the score in the "Exam Score" box.
Example: 15. Register for exemption from the Foreign Language exam in the high school graduation recognition or admission process: (Candidates should write the type of language certificate that qualifies for exemption according to the regulations or specify that they are members of the national team participating in the International Olympic in Foreign Language to be exempted): TOEFL ITP Exam Score (If the certificate has an exam score, candidates should enter this score of 450): |
Section 16: Candidates who took the high school graduation exam in the previous year, if they have exams/subjects that meet the conditions for retention according to the regulations, and they want to retain the scores of those exams/subjects, should record the scores of those exams/subjects in the corresponding box (Note: For combination exams, candidates have the right to retain the results of each component subject if they meet the conditions. To retain the overall score of a combination exam, candidates must record the scores of all component subjects of that combination exam). For the exams/subjects that are retained, candidates can still choose to register for the exam (a whole exam or component subject) in Section 14 only if they have the desire to use the results for university and college admission.
Sections 24, 25, 26, 27: Candidates who register for the exam to obtain the results for admission to the Department of Early Childhood Education must fill in the information in these sections. For Section 24, candidates must declare the information on the software fully and accurately, along with supporting documents, according to the regulations and instructions in Appendix XVII, to receive priority in the university and college admissions process.
