What are the sample paragraphs expressing feelings and emotions about a story for 5th-grade students in Vietnam?

Writing a paragraph expressing feelings and emotions about a story will be part of the 5th-grade Vietnamese language curriculum. 5th-grade students in Vietnam may refer to the following sample paragraphs expressing feelings and emotions about a story:

Sample 1: Thoughts on the story Sự tích cây vú sữa"

When reading Sự tích cây vú sữa", I felt incredibly moved. The story tells of the sacred maternal bond between a kind mother and her playful child. When the child left home, the mother became so forlorn that she withered away. By the time the child returned, the mother had transformed into a strange tree with sweet fruits reminiscent of mother's milk. The story made me realize that a mother's love is immense, always ready to forgive and protect her child despite their mistakes. I remind myself to love and cherish my mother more because she is the most precious gift in my life.

Sample 2: Thoughts on the story "Tấm Cám"

Reading "Tam and Cam," I both sympathize with Tam and despise the evil acts of Cam and her mother. Tam is gentle and hardworking but is treated unfairly. She is harmed by Cam and her mother time and again, but thanks to her perseverance and the assistance of the Buddha, Tam eventually attains happiness. The story helps me understand that kindness will eventually lead to goodness, and evil will eventually be punished. I believe that if one lives righteously and works diligently, they will certainly encounter good things in life.

Sample 3: Thoughts on the story "Cây tre trăm đốt"

After reading "Cây tre trăm đốt", I felt very pleased and satisfied with the story's ending. Khoai is kind and hardworking but is deceived by the rich old man. Thanks to a magic spell from the Buddha, he taught the old man a valuable lesson. The story helps me understand that good and honest people will always be helped and encounter good fortune, while the greedy and deceitful will meet their deserving consequences. I concluded that in life, one must always preserve honesty and should not be greedy or deceitful to others.

How is the 5th-grade Vietnamese language curriculum developed?

Under Section II of the Annex to the General Education Program for Literature issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the 5th-grade Vietnamese language curriculum is developed as follows:

The Literature curriculum adheres to the basic regulations outlined in the overall program while emphasizing the following points:

[1] The curriculum is developed on theoretical and practical foundations, updating research achievements in:

- Education, psychology, and teaching methods for Literature; research achievements in literature and linguistics; achievements in Vietnamese literature across eras;

- The experience of developing the Vietnamese Literature curriculum, especially from the early 21st century to present and international trends in curriculum development in general and Literature curriculum in particular in recent years, especially programs in developed countries;

- The social, educational, economic conditions, and cultural traditions of Vietnam, particularly the diversity of students in terms of region, conditions, and learning abilities.

[2] The curriculum focuses on training communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) as the main thread throughout all three educational levels to meet competency-oriented program requirements and ensure consistency across all educational levels and classes.

Basic, foundational knowledge about Vietnamese language and literature is formed through activities of receiving and creating texts; directly serving the requirement to train reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

[3] The curriculum is developed with an open approach, reflected in the lack of detailed regulations on teaching content but only specifying the required achievements in reading, writing, speaking, and listening for each class; stipulating some basic, core knowledge about Vietnamese, literature and some literary texts with significant importance for all students nationwide.

[4] The curriculum not only meets the requirements for innovation but also focuses on inheriting and promoting the strengths of the existing Literature curriculum, especially the current one.

What are the basic stages in teaching the 5th-grade Vietnamese language subject?

Under Section I of the Appendix on the General Education Program for Literature issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the 5th-grade Vietnamese language subject has the following characteristics:

Literature is under the Language and Literature Education field, taught from Grade 1 to Grade 12. At the primary school level, this subject is called Vietnamese language; at the lower and upper secondary levels, it is called Literature.

Literature is a subject with instrumental, aesthetic, and humanistic characteristics; it provides students with the means to communicate and serves as a foundation for learning all other subjects and educational activities within the school; it is also a vital tool for educating students about the noble values of national culture, literature, and language; developing healthy emotions, humane sentiments, and a charitable, altruistic lifestyle in students,...

Through linguistic texts and lively artistic images in literary works, by activities involving reading, writing, speaking, and listening, the subject of Literature plays a significant role in helping students form and develop good character traits and core competencies to live and work effectively and to learn for life.

The content of Literature is comprehensive, including cultural, ethical, philosophical knowledge,... related to many other subjects and educational activities such as History, Geography, Art, Civic Education, Foreign Languages, Science, and Society, Experiential Activities, Career Orientation,... Literature is also closely connected to life; it helps students become more engaged with daily life, relate and learn to solve issues arising in practice.

The core content of the subject includes basic and essential knowledge and skills about the Vietnamese language and literature, meeting the achievement requirements regarding student qualities and competencies at each school level; it is divided into two stages: the basic education stage and the career-oriented education stage.

Basic education stage: The program is designed based on the main threads corresponding to the skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Knowledge of Vietnamese and literature is integrated during the teaching of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The texts are selected and arranged to suit the students' reception abilities at each grade level.

The aim of this stage is to help students proficiently use Vietnamese to communicate effectively in life and to study other subjects and educational activities well; form and develop literary competence, an embodiment of aesthetic competence; as well as cultivate thoughts and emotions to develop students' souls and personalities.

Career-oriented education stage: The program consolidates and develops the results of the basic education stage, helping students enhance their language and literary competence, especially in literary text reception; strengthening skills in creating argumentative and informative texts with more complexity in content and writing techniques; providing knowledge on literary history and literary theory that has practical applications for reading and writing about literature; continuing to cultivate thoughts, emotions, souls, and personalities to become responsible citizens.

Additionally, each year, students oriented towards social sciences and humanities can choose to study certain elective study modules.

These modules aim to enhance knowledge about literature and language, the ability to apply knowledge in practice, meeting the interests, needs, and career orientation of students.
