Under Article 34 of the Primary School Charter issued under Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the duties of primary school students in Vietnam are prescribed as follows:

- Study and train according to the educational plan, and school rules; maintain self-awareness in learning and training to comprehensively develop qualities and capacities according to the goals of the primary education program.

- Fulfill and efficiently perform learning tasks; know how to self-study under the guidance of teachers; proactively, and actively participate in experiential activities and apply learned knowledge to practical life; practice fitness, and maintain personal hygiene.

- Show filial piety to parents, and grandparents; respect and show politeness to teachers and elderlies; unite, love, and help friends, younger siblings, the elderly, the disabled, and those in difficult circumstances.

- Comply with school rules, protect school and public property; adhere to traffic safety regulations; maintain hygiene and protect the environment.

- Contribute to activities building, protecting and promoting the traditions of the school and the locality.

What are the rights of primary school students in Vietnam?

Under Article 35 of the Charter for Primary Schools issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the rights of primary school students in Vietnam include:

- Right to education

+ Receive education and study for comprehensive development and to best exploit individual potentials; study at a convenient primary education school or class in the residence area.

+ Students can choose a school or transfer to another school outside the residence area if the school may receive them.

+ Students of primary education age returning from abroad, children of foreigners studying, or working in Vietnam, and children with difficult circumstances who have not yet attended school, if wishing to transfer to a primary school, the principal will organize a proficiency assessment to place them in an appropriate class.
