According to Article 5 of the Regulation issued with Circular 27/2020/BGDDT, the assessment criteria for 5th-grade students in Vietnam during the 2024-2025 academic year are as follows:
1) Assess learning process, progression and academic results of students satisfying requirements and specific display of capacities of each subject and academic activities according to formal primary education programs.
2) Assess formation and development of traits and capacities of students via following primary traits and capacities:
- Primary traits: patriotism, humane, diligence, honesty, and sense of responsibility.
- Primary capacities:
+) General capacities: self-control, self-studying, communication, cooperation, problem resolution and creativity;
+) Specific capacities: language, calculation, science, technology, computer, aesthetic, and physical attributes.
What are the 05 primary traits required for 5th-grade students in Vietnam?
According to the General Education Program issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT (amended by Article 1 and Article 2 of Circular 13/2022/TT-BGDDT), the 05 primary traits required for 5th-grade students in Vietnam are as follows:
(1) Patriotism

- Do not agree with dishonest behavior in learning and life.
(5) Responsibility
Be responsible for oneself:
- Be conscious of maintaining hygiene, exercising, and taking care of health.
- Be conscious of living orderly.
Be responsible for the family
- Be conscious of maintaining and taking care of personal and family belongings.
- Do not waste food and drinks; be conscious of saving money, electricity, and water at home.
Be responsible for the school and society:
- Voluntarily comply with school rules and collective regulations; maintain general hygiene; protect public property.
- Do not cause disturbances, quarrels, or fights.
- Remind friends to comply with school and class rules; remind family members to comply with public regulations and agreements.
