The year 2025 marks the first implementation of the National High School Graduation Examination according to the 2018 General Education Program, making the development of a sampole exam highly important.

What is the orientation for the English education content in Vietnam?
Based on Section V of the 2018 Overall General Education Program issued alongside Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT (amended by Article 1 Circular 13/2022/TT-BGDDT), the orientation for English education content and foreign language subjects is stipulated as follows:
- Foreign Language subjects help students develop language skills to use confidently and effectively, serving learning and communication, meeting the nation's industrialization, modernization, and international integration needs.
- High school students are required to study one foreign language (referred to as Foreign Language 1) and may optionally choose at least one other foreign language (Foreign Language 2) based on their desires and the educational institution's capacity.
- Foreign Language 1 is a mandatory subject from grade 3 to grade 12. Educational institutions may begin teaching Foreign Language 1 from grade 1 if there is demand and the institution can accommodate it.
- Foreign Language 2 is an elective subject, which can be taught starting from grade 6 and ending at any grade depending on student demand and institutional capacity.
- Foreign language subjects develop the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing comprehensively. Foreign language education content is structured seamlessly from the basic education stage to career-oriented education based on international and Vietnamese language proficiency frameworks.
What is the schedule for implementing the national high school graduation examination from 2025 in Vietnam?
According to Article 9 of the Plan for Organizing Examinations and Recognizing Graduates for High School from 2025 issued alongside Decision 4068/QD-BGDDT in 2023, the schedule for implementing the examination from 2025 is outlined as follows:
- The examination plan will be implemented from 2025.
- The period 2025 - 2030: Maintain the stable paper-based examination method.
- Post-2030 period: Gradually pilot computer-based testing for multiple-choice subjects in qualified localities (potentially combining paper-based and computer-based testing). Once all localities nationwide are qualified, the high school graduation examination for multiple-choice subjects will transition to computer-based testing.
- Continue research on schedules and criteria to build a common test library/bank when conditions allow, to delegate examination organization to localities and educational institutions to evaluate high school graduation quality, replacing the current national examination method, depending on socio-economic conditions.
Who are the candidates for the national high school graduation examination from 2025 in Vietnam?
Referring to Article 2 of the Plan for Organizing the Examination and Recognizing Graduates for High School from 2025 issued in Decision 4068/QD-BGDDT in 2023, the candidates for the national high school graduation examination from 2025 are specified as follows:
- Individuals who have completed the high school program, the continuing education high school program in the examination year, or have completed the high school program but have not taken the graduation examination, or have taken it but not yet graduated and wish to take the examination to be recognized as graduates.
- Individuals who have already obtained a High School Diploma or a secondary-level diploma wishing to take the examination for university-level or vocational education admission purposes.
