Vietnam Women's Day on October 20 is a special day dedicated to Vietnamese women.
Historical anniversary: On October 20, 1930, the Vietnamese Women's Anti-imperialist Association (the predecessor of today's Vietnam Women's Union) was officially established. To commemorate this important event and honor the role of Vietnamese women in the struggle for national liberation, the Communist Party of Vietnam chose October 20 as the traditional day of the Union and as a day of commemoration for Vietnamese women.

What are regulations on reducing teaching hour norms for teachers concurrently serving as homeroom teachers at lower secondary education level in Vietnam?
Based on Article 8 of the Regulation on working policies for general education teachers issued with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT (supplemented by Clause 8 Article 1 of Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT):
Policy on reducing teaching hour norms for teachers concurrently undertaking professional tasks
1. Primary school homeroom teachers are reduced by 3 hours/week, secondary and high school homeroom teachers are reduced by 4 hours/week.
2. Homeroom teachers at ethnic minority boarding secondary and high schools are reduced by 4 hours/week. Homeroom teachers at specialized schools and semi-boarding schools are reduced by 4 hours/week. Homeroom teachers in schools/classes for the disabled and handicapped are reduced by 3 hours/week.
2a. Homeroom teachers in preparatory university schools are reduced by 3 hours/week.
3. Teachers concurrently in charge of subject classrooms are reduced by 3 hours/subject/week.
4. Teachers concurrently responsible for school-wide activities such as cultural performance, physical education, school gardens, school workshops, equipment rooms, libraries (if these duties do not have specialized staff) are reduced by 2 - 3 hours/week depending on the workload and decided by the principal.
5. Subject group leaders are reduced by 3 hours/week.
5a. Specialized deputies are reduced by 1 hour/week.
5b. Teachers concurrently head of functional departments in preparatory university schools are reduced by 3 hours/week;
Teachers concurrently deputy head of functional departments in preparatory university schools are reduced by 1 hour/week.
Thus, lower secondary school teachers concurrently serving as homeroom teachers will be reduced by 4 hours/week.
What are subjects of application of regular training program for teachers in Vietnam?
Based on Section II of the Regular Teacher Training Program for general education institutions issued with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT, the regular teacher training program for general education applies to teachers teaching in the following schools:
- Primary schools,
- Lower secondary schools
- Upper secondary schools, multi-level schools
- Specialized schools, ethnic minority boarding schools, ethnic minority semi-boarding schools.
What is the working time of lower secondary school teachers in Vietnam?
Based on Article 5 of the Regulation on working policies for general education teachers issued with Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT (supplemented by Clause 3 Article 1 of Circular 15/2017/TT-BGDDT):
Working time, annual leave time
1. The working time for primary school teachers in a school year is 42 weeks, including:
a) 35 weeks for teaching and educational activities as per the school year time plan regulations.
b) 05 weeks for self-study and professional development.
c) 01 week for preparing the new academic year.
d) 01 week for summarizing the school year.
2. The working time for secondary and high school teachers in a school year is 42 weeks, including:
a) 37 weeks for teaching and educational activities as per the school year time plan regulations.
b) 03 weeks for self-study and professional development.
c) 01 week for preparing the new academic year.
d) 01 week for summarizing the school year.
2a. The working time for preparatory university school teachers is 42 weeks, including:
a) 28 weeks for teaching and educational activities as per the academic year plan;
b) 12 weeks for self-study, professional development, material building, scientific research, and other activities as per the academic year plan;
c) 01 week for preparing the new academic year;
d) 01 week for summarizing the academic year.

Thus, lower secondary school teachers will have a total working time of 42 weeks, including:
