Pursuant to Section 2 of the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT, the regulated subjects for training are as follows:

Training Subjects

The Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers applies to teachers currently teaching at elementary schools, lower secondary schools, upper secondary schools, schools with multiple levels, specialized schools, boarding schools for ethnic minorities, semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities (hereinafter collectively referred to as general educational institutions).

Thus, the subjects of general education teachers required for regular training are:

- Teachers currently teaching at elementary schools

- Lower secondary schools

- Upper secondary schools

- Schools with multiple levels, specialized schools, boarding schools for ethnic minorities, semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities.

What are purposes of regular training for general educational institution teachers in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Section 1 of the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT regulating the purpose:

Purpose

The Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers aims to train according to job position requirements; provide mandatory annual professional knowledge and skills training for teachers at general educational institutions; serve as a basis for managing, directing, organizing, and compiling materials for training and self-training to improve the professional qualities, expertise, and skills of teachers at general educational institutions, meeting the requirements of job positions, enhancing the responsiveness of teachers at general educational institutions to the demands of general education development and the standards of the teaching profession.

Thus, the purpose of regular training for general educational institution teachers is:

- Training according to the requirements of job positions; mandatory annual professional knowledge and skills training for teachers at general educational institutions;

- Serving as a basis for managing, directing, organizing, and compiling materials for training and self-training to improve the professional qualities, expertise, and skills of teachers at general educational institutions, meeting job position requirements, enhancing the responsiveness of teachers at general educational institutions to the demands of general education development and the standards of the teaching profession.

What are required achievements in training module GVPT 01 in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Section 3 of the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT, the required achievements in training module GVPT 01 are as follows:

- Analyze the current situation of teacher ethics in the current context (inadequacies, lessons from teachers violating ethics, role models affecting ethical education and teaching students); relate to educational levels;

- Apply regulations about teacher ethics to develop and implement a self-training plan, improve personal ethical qualities as a teacher;

- Support colleagues in striving to improve their ethical qualities as teachers.

What are regulations on training duration according to the regular training program for general educational institution teachers in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Section 4 of the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers issued together with Circular 17/2019/TT-BGDDT regulating the implementation guidelines of the program:

IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES

  1. The implementation of the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers includes 03 training programs as regulated in section III of this Program.

  2. Training duration:

a) Each teacher at general educational institutions implements the Regular Training Program with specific durations as follows:

- Training Program 01: Approximately 01 week/school year (around 40 periods/school year);

- Training Program 02: Approximately 01 week/school year (around 40 periods/school year);

- Training Program 03: 01 week/school year (40 periods/school year);

b) Based on the requirements and educational plans of the locality in each school year, educational management levels can adjust the duration of Training Program 01 and Training Program 02 appropriately but cannot change the duration of Training Program 03 for each teacher at general educational institutions (ensuring a duration of 120 periods/school year);

c) Based on Training Program 03, teachers at general educational institutions self-select the necessary training modules according to their individual needs to develop professional qualities and skills, ensuring the regulated duration.

  1. The implementation of the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers is carried out annually according to the Regular Training Regulation issued by the Minister of Education and Training.

Thus, the training duration according to the Regular Training Program for General Educational Institution Teachers is 120 periods/year.
