When shall the educational institutions in Vietnam annouce the minimum admission scores after filtering application?

Based on subsection 10, section 3 of Official Dispatch 1957/BGDDT-GDDH in 2024:

For training institutions

10. Training institutions must regulate that all candidates confirm their enrollment online on the system before enrolling at the training institution;

- For candidates admitted through direct recruitment methods (Article 8 of the Ministry of Education and Training's Admission Regulation), training institutions guide candidates to confirm enrollment online on the system within the regulated time;

- Based on the number of candidates who confirm enrollment, training institutions organize subsequent admission rounds (if any) and update the list of admitted and enrolled candidates according to regulations;

- Training institutions are only allowed to announce the admission scores after the final round of virtual filtering. The announcement of admission scores must include the announcement of the grading scale and additional criteria (if any).

- Update the list of admitted, enrolled candidates by rounds, admission methods, training forms according to the correct data structure, conformable with the admissions catalogues (high schools, disadvantaged areas, especially disadvantaged areas...) and within the regulated time;

What are the basic principles in 2024 admissions in Vietnam?

Based on Article 4 of the University Admission Regulation, College Admission for Preschool Education program issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the basic principles in 2024 admissions are as follows:

- Fairness to candidates

+ Regarding information provision: Each interested candidate is provided with complete, clear, reliable, consistent, and promptly information to make appropriate decisions and best prepare for participation in admissions;

+ Regarding opportunity to apply: No candidate loses the opportunity to apply due to unrelated regulations regarding their qualifications, capabilities (except for specific regulations of the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of National Defense in the field of defense, security); or due to cumbersome, costly admission procedures;

+ Regarding capability assessment: Candidates must be objectively, fairly, and reliably assessed for their academic abilities and prospects of success, meeting the requirements of the training program and field;

+ Regarding opportunity for admission: Candidates must be given the highest admission opportunity and the right to determine priority preferences among programs and fields for which they are eligible;

+ Regarding commitment implementation: Training institutions must fulfill commitments to candidates; provide counseling, support, and resolve complaints, protecting their legitimate rights in risk cases.

- Equality among training institutions

+ Regarding cooperation: Training institutions cooperate on equal terms to improve the quality and efficiency of admissions, bringing the best benefits to candidates;

+ Regarding competition: Training institutions compete honestly, fairly, and healthily in admissions as per competition law regulations.

- Transparency to society

+ Regarding information transparency: Training institutions are responsible for fully, clearly, and promptly disclosing admission information through appropriate media for societal and state supervision;

+ Regarding accountability: Training institutions are responsible for reporting as required by state management agencies and explaining to society through appropriate forms on major issues causing public concern.
