When must students of the Continuing Education Program in Vietnam regulate their conduct during the summer break?

According to Clause 1, Article 19 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT, which regulates the assessment of students following the Continuing Education Programs at the lower secondary and upper secondary levels, issued by the Minister of Education and Training, the regulations are as follows:

Effectiveness:

1. This Circular takes effect from February 14, 2022, and will be implemented according to the following schedule:

- From the school year 2021 - 2022 for grade 6.

- From the school year 2022 - 2023 for grade 7 and grade 10.

- From the school year 2023 - 2024 for grade 8 and grade 11.

- From the school year 2024 - 2025 for grade 9 and grade 12.

Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 12 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT, which stipulates conduct regulation during summer vacation, the regulations are as follows:

Conduct regulation during summer vacation

1. Students whose yearly training results are assessed as Not Achieved must regulate their conduct during the summer break.

2. The form of Conduct regulation during summer vacation is determined by the center director.

Who prepares the List of students of the Continuing Education Program required to regulate their conduct during the summer break in Vietnam?

According to the provisions of Article 18 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT regarding the responsibilities of homeroom teachers, the duties include:

- Assisting the Director in managing student evaluations of the class according to the provisions of this Circular.

- Verifying the correction of grades and assessment levels by subject teachers; compiling training and academic results for each semester and the whole school year in the Student Progress and Evaluation Log (by class), Student Report Card.

- Evaluating training results for each semester and the whole school year of students; preparing the list of students promoted to the next grade, reassessed for subjects, trained during the summer break, not promoted, receiving awards.- Recording or entering the assessment results of each student into the Student Progress and Evaluation Log (by class), and Student Report Card:

+ Comments on students' training and academic results; evaluation levels of students' training and academic results.

+ Results of promotion or non-promotion; recognition of completing the lower secondary education program, upper secondary education program, or non-recognition of completing the lower secondary education program, upper secondary education program; awards.

- Guiding students in self-assessment during training and learning. Collaborating with subject teachers, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Parent Representative Committee, and related organizations and individuals to educate students and receive feedback on their training and academic process.

- Informing parents or students' workplaces individually about their training and academic process and results.

Thus, the person who prepares the list of students required to regulate their conduct during the summer break at the continuing education center is the homeroom teacher.

Regulations on grade promotion, subject to re-evaluation during the summer, grade retention/repetition for students of the Continuing Education Program in Vietnam

Based on Article 11 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT, which regulates grade promotion, subject to re-evaluation during the summer, grade retention/repetition for students of the Continuing Education Program, the regulations are as follows:

- Students who meet the following conditions are promoted to the next grade or recognized as completing the lower secondary education program, upper secondary education program:

+ Yearly training results (including reassessed results after summer break training as stipulated in Article 13 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT) are assessed as Achieved or higher.

+ Yearly academic results (including reassessed results of subjects as stipulated in Article 13 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT) are assessed as Achieved or higher.

+ Absences not exceeding 45 days in a school year (calculated based on a daily education plan as stipulated in the Continuing Education Program, including both justified and unjustified absences, continuous or non-continuous).

- In the case of students required to regulate their conduct during the summer break, follow the provisions of Article 12 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT; students required to reassess subjects during the summer break follow the provisions of Article 13 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT.

- Students who do not meet the requirements stipulated in Clause 1, Article 11 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT are not promoted to the next grade or not recognized as completing the lower secondary education program, upper secondary education program.

- For disabled students: the center director considers the evaluation results of disabled students according to the provisions of Article 10 of Circular 43/2021/TT-BGDDT to decide on their promotion or recognition of completing the lower secondary education program, upper secondary education program.
