What types of documents do primary school teachers in Vietnam need to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year?

Based on Article 21 of the Regulations for Primary Schools, issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the management documents of educational activities is as follows:

Management Records of Educational Activities

1. For the school:

a) Enrollment register.

b) Student records.

c) Summary table of educational evaluation results by class.

d) Strategic development plan for the school and annual educational activity plan.

dd) Staff, teacher, and employee management log.

e) Universal education records.

f) Asset and financial management records.

g) Log of administrative documents.

h) Records for educating disabled students (if there are disabled students).

2. For teachers:

a) Lesson plans.

b) Log for recording professional activities, class observations, and monitoring and evaluating students' learning outcomes.

c) Homeroom log (for homeroom teachers).

d) Team activity log (for Team General Supervisors).

3. For professional groups and office groups: Log for recording the activities of the group.

4. Management staff, teachers, and employees may use electronic records instead of paper records, ensuring storage requirements and having the same value as paper records.

Thus, primary school teachers need to prepare the following 4 types of record books for the academic year 2024-2025:

[1] Lesson plans.

[2] Log for recording professional activities, class observations, and monitoring and evaluating students' learning outcomes.

[3] Homeroom log (for homeroom teachers).

[4] Team activity log (for Team General Supervisors).

Do primary school teachers in Vietnam need to maintain a friendly relationship with students' parents?

Based on Article 27 of the Regulations for Primary Schools, issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, primary school teachers have the following duties:

Duties of Teachers

1. Teachers have the following duties:

a) Implement the primary education curriculum and the school's educational plan. Proactively implement and take responsibility for educational plans; independently and responsibly perform professional duties (materials, educational methods, student assessment) and the quality and effectiveness of education for each student in the assigned class, complying with educational program regulations, suitable for students' conditions and specific conditions of the school.

b) Participate in developing educational plans for the professional group and the school; frequently update industry directives; prepare, organize teaching, and assess students as regulated; carry out other professional activities.

c) Establish friendly, democratic relationships between teachers and students, their parents, and the community; help students become proactive, creative, confident, and independent in studying and practicing.

d) Maintain the ethics, honor, and prestige of teachers; behave culturally, unite, and support colleagues; set an example for students; love, treat fairly, and respect students; protect students' lawful rights and interests.

dd) Perform self-assessment according to professional standards; engage in self-learning and self-improvement to enhance professional capacity; undertake regular professional training as regulated; share professional knowledge with colleagues within and outside the school through professional activities and training programs.

e) Apply information technology in teaching, learning, and professional activities; creatively and flexibly create teaching aids.

g) Participate in selecting textbooks as regulated; propose the school provide reference books and teaching equipment as appropriate for teaching.

h) Participate in quality education accreditation.

i) Participate in implementing compulsory education, universal education, and literacy eradication in the local area.

k) Collaborate with the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, students' families, the community, and related social organizations to perform educational tasks.

l) Manage and organize the educational plan at the school point when assigned by the principal.

m) Perform other tasks as regulated by law and assigned by the principal.

2. Homeroom teachers, besides the duties stated in Clause 1 of this Article, have the following duties:

a) Proactively grasp information about each student in the assigned homeroom class; develop educational activities for the class that clearly display goals, content, and methods, ensuring feasibility, suitability for students' characteristics, and realistic conditions to promote the progress of the entire class and each student.

b) Implement educational activities according to the plan developed and approved by the principal.

c) Closely collaborate with students' parents or guardians, teachers, the Team General Supervisor, and related social organizations to organize educational activities and support and monitor the learning and practicing of students in the homeroom class; compile comments and evaluate students at the end of the first semester and end of the school year; guide students in voting and recommending awards; make a list of students suggested to repeat a grade; complete student records.

d) Provide regular or ad hoc reports on class conditions to the principal.

3. Team General Supervisors are responsible to the principal for developing and organizing the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team and Sao Nhi Dong activities, contributing to achieving the comprehensive educational goals of students.

Thus, primary school teachers are responsible for establishing friendly, democratic relationships with students, their parents, and the community.

Therefore, under the above regulation, maintaining a friendly relationship with students' parents is one of the duties that primary school teachers must fulfill.

Are teachers in Vietnam considered staff in primary schools?

According to Article 26 of the Regulations for Primary Schools, issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, it is clearly stipulated that:

- Teachers are responsible for teaching and educating students in primary schools and other educational institutions implementing the primary education program.

- Staff are involved in supporting and assisting with teaching and educating students in primary schools and other educational institutions implementing the primary education program.

Thus, teachers and staff in primary schools are two entirely different positions.
