According to Subsection 3, Section A, Part 6 of the Regulation issued along with Circular 41/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, a student majoring in commercial marketing at the college level must meet the following skill requirements after graduation:
- Develop short-term, mid-term, and long-term marketing strategies;
- Establish and maintain pricing policies for products and services;
- Segment and select target markets for the enterprise;
- Predict consumer reactions to the enterprise's product selection;
- Plan and implement programs: Communication, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Brand Promotion, etc.;
- Organize marketing activities for the enterprise;
- Draft budgets for marketing activities;
- Select personnel for the enterprise's marketing activities;
- Establish distribution channels for offering and selling products and propose methods for product/service improvement;
- Organize training programs for the marketing staff;
- Apply science and technology to marketing activities;
- Evaluate the marketing activities of the enterprise and provide reasonable advice to the enterprise's leadership;
- Use common communication tools proficiently;
- Utilize basic information technology as regulated; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work;
- Use basic foreign languages, reaching level 2/6 in the Vietnam Language Competency Framework; apply foreign languages to professional work.

- Identify and segment key markets for the enterprise;
- Distinguish marketing strategies for different customer groups;
- Present basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense, security, and physical education as regulated.

General Introduction to the Sector
College-level commercial marketing is a sector that performs tasks and duties to identify customer needs and desires, create value, communicate value, and provide value to satisfy the needs of parties involved in the exchange process between the enterprise and its customers most effectively, meeting the requirements of level 5 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
The main duties of the profession include: Understanding the marketing environment and market; determining the strategic marketing direction of the organization; creating offering proposals for the organization's customers; managing and delivering marketing communication programs; developing, implementing, and managing marketing plans; using, researching, and developing customer databases; building, managing, and developing the brand.
Working conditions and environment: Marketing activities are carried out in organizations with fluctuating work conditions, competition, relationships with various customers, and professionalism.
Minimum Knowledge Volume: 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
Thus, the minimum knowledge volume for college-level commercial marketing is 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
