According to the provisions in Subsection 1, Section A, Part 3 of the Regulations on minimum knowledge volume, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate, college level for sectors and occupations in the field of computers and information technology (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) issued together with Circular 44/2018/TT-BLDTBXH:

The Computer Programming major at the college level is a field that involves the use of advanced programming languages and tools to analyze, design, develop, and maintain application software; apply algorithms and use programming technology to create products as per customer needs; develop new applications, upgrade and repair existing applications, build processing functions, research and develop new technologies, meeting Level 5 requirements in Vietnam’s National Qualifications Framework.

The main tasks of the Computer Programming field include:

- Surveying customer requirements;- Analyzing customer requirements;- Providing solutions, services, and software products for customers;- Developing application software with advanced programming technologies;- Database programming;- Mobile device application programming;- Web programming;- Software testing;- Deploying and troubleshooting during the operation of application software.

Minimum knowledge volume: 2,160 Hours (equivalent to 85 credits)

What is the minimum knowledge of graduates with an associate degree in computer programming in Vietnam?

- Explain basic knowledge about computers; Information Technology (IT) and specialized terminology.

- Present specifications related to operating systems, hardware, software; Information security

;- Present knowledge about database management systems, versions, and features of database management systems; Processes for analyzing and constructing databases

.- Present techniques for creating survey forms, and questionnaires to gather customer requirements for developing application software;

- Present the processes and methods for analyzing and designing software;

- Present programming methods with advanced technologies (such as .Net, Java, etc.);

- Use basic information technology as prescribed;

- Install operating systems and computer software applications;

- Install database management systems for programming purposes; Backup, restore, query, and secure databases;

- Create content analysis tables of customer requirements for software development;- Use modeling tools to support customer requirement analysis;

- Use advanced programming tools;

- Fully develop application software;

- Use analysis and design tools for mobile application databases;

- Use mobile programming tools; Fully develop applications on the mobile platform;

- Use tools to design web interfaces;

- Program web applications on computer and mobile platforms;

- Use tools to deploy web applications;

- Manage product introduction, e-commerce websites;

- Record work logs and progress reports;

- Implement industrial hygiene measures, labor safety measures;

- Effectively communicate through writing, presenting, discussing, negotiating, controlling situations;

- Optimize data leakage and loss during tasks; establish optimized operational configurations to save processing power and electrical energy of computer systems;

- Use basic foreign languages, achieving Level 2/6 in Vietnam’s foreign language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages to professional tasks in the field.
