- Designing and building network systems;
- Network system administration;
- Network security administration and supervision;
- Network programming, mobile, and smart device applications;
- Developing communication applications.

What is the college-level communication and computer networks major according to the law in Vietnam?
Based on Subsection 1, Section A, Part 1 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the college-level communication and computer networks major is as follows:
The college-level communication and computer networks major involves designing, building, and operating entire computer systems and networks, as well as administering, supervising, and coordinating other activities related to computer networks.
Additionally, the program equips students with advanced skills for application development on machine systems, meeting the requirements of level 5 in the Vietnamese national qualifications framework.
Professionals in communication and computer networks possess theoretical knowledge and practical skills in information technology, with a specialization in computer networks and communication, or advanced technologies such as cloud computing, grid computing, mobile computing, data center operation, and information security.
These professionals can work in agencies and enterprises providing computer hardware solutions, installation, repair, and maintenance of computer network systems; IT and non-IT enterprises involved in network system analysis, design, surveillance equipment, and network system installation;
They can also manage network systems, establish systems at data centers, ISP providers for companies and organizations, exploit and install Internet network services, diagnose, monitor, and troubleshoot computer network issues, maintain, upgrade, and optimize network systems, ensure system, software, and device safety and security; perform network programming, develop mobile and smart device applications, and design and manage websites.
They can apply communication knowledge in building communication strategies and plans, implementing social and networked communications, integrated marketing communication (IMC), and designing and integrating multimedia products into journalism, as well as building effective multimedia channels.
Minimum knowledge volume: 2200 hours equivalent to 85 credits.
What are the skill requirements for students of college-level communication and computer networks upon graduation in Vietnam?
Based on Subsection 3, Section A, Part 1 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the skill requirements for students of college-level communication and computer networks upon graduation in Vietnam are as follows:
- Exploit applications on network systems;
- Design, build, and deploy network systems for small and medium enterprises;
- Deploy, install, and operate (administer) information systems for enterprises;
- Assess security systems and encrypt data;
- Build and deploy firewall systems to protect network systems;
- Maintain, repair, and upgrade software and hardware of network systems;
- Develop access control policies applicable to subjects in the system;
- Use tools to check and scan for vulnerabilities on network devices;
- Create monitoring records for transmission cable systems, equipment infrastructure, service systems, and network security;
- Establish troubleshooting procedures and maintenance policies;
- Manage groups, supervise, and secure information security in medium and small systems;
- Compile a list of security risks and vulnerabilities in the system;
- Build simple applications on the network system;
- Evaluate and select wireless network system equipment;
- Maintain and troubleshoot wireless network system errors;
- Be proficient in network programming, mobile, and smart device applications;
- Build and develop communication applications and IT applications that meet customer expectations;
- Utilize communication in building communication strategies and plans, proficiently engage in social and network communications, integrated marketing communication (IMC);
- Apply multimedia communication to create multimedia products that meet communication requirements;
- Use basic information technology as required; apply IT in specific professional tasks of the industry;
- Use basic foreign languages, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnam's foreign language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages in professional tasks of the industry.
